They're basically the same, honestly. You can (through Spotify) download music to listen to offline or stream, access podcasts.

I tried Apple Music a year or two ago and checked to see if it had some of the more obscure music I listened to (foreign songs, underground-ish stuff) and surprisingly, it did. There's apps/services that migrate your libraries from one service to another, too.

Initially got an LTE watch to be able to play music from the watch instead of having my heavy ass phone swing around in my pocket at the gym. Not sure why I didn't go through with it... considering it now.

That's what is leaning me. The connectivity. iPhone, watch, the kids iPad's. I hate having to you use a third party app to text my kids.

There was a time when I had an LG watch, Nexus 7, various Android phones. I always gave both companies a fair shake. Jailbroke and rooted several phones.

it’s honestly annoying texting the other group no matter what. But among Apple users, iMessage across all platforms is really nice.

started with an og iPhone, eventually went to android for a few years. The variety is great, I never stayed with the same brand for consecutive devices.

yeah, I am a little entrenched but don’t mind at all. I was on the lookout for Android tablets and wear to pull me back in for the past few years but nope.

The first time I discovered I could unlock my MacBook with my watch, I was pretty impressed.

Same here. Had an old iPhone. Like the 4 or something. Then switched to android. I did like LG and had 3 consecutive V models when they rolled out. I was happy with them other than the wait for updates. Now I'm on the Pixel 3XL. Honestly I love
it. No complaints. Paired with a Fossil Gen5 watch. It has the latest snapdragon processor. Great watch that looks like a watch. Calls, text, alerts all that shit.

But after 6-7 years I'm bored (like my first marriage)...

My buddy has the beta. Says that the battery is getting drained but didn't report other issues.

I listen to music in my car using my iPhone via Bluetooth to my car.
Every time a text message comes in, the volume of my music drops. It's really annoying since my contacts don't know how to send messages with more than one sentence and I'll end up getting several drops in the music.
How do I make it stop dropping the music volume when a text message (imessage) is received?

Mute your phone?

My phone is usually on mute because I have the Apple Watch. I don't get notification noises when I get a text when I'm using Carplay and my phone is muted.

ahhh, I don't know why i didn't think of this. if you set your phone to automatically turn on 'do not disturb while driving' when bluetooth connects, you will not receive notifications while driving which will keep your volume levels even. Solid call Stunna!

ios 14 Beta 3 has experimental VP9 support! VP9 is the codec Google uses for all videos higher res than 1080P on youtube. No apple devices have been able to play 4k video on Youtube, not even the 4k Apple TV.

is it actually VP9 support or AV1?

would be nice if hardware vp9 support comes to MacOS (even thou the intel CPUs support decoding it)

Have you thought about trading up to an Iphone X in the meantime? Pricing isn't that bad for used ones and it'd certainly last until iphone 12 comes out and has all the 5G quirks fixed.

So I had an old 6 that basically died last year and had to get an 11. Apple actually gave me $60 trade-in even though it was basically dead. I was really hoping to holdout for the 12.

That being said, I am thinking of selling my 11 now and using my dads old 6 until the 12 comes out. I am debating if it's worth doing or not.

You guys that sell your old ones, what's the best place for it? Seems like Craigslist is just scams now.

Does anyone have SE 2nd gen? I am trying to figure out if it is worth switching from my iPhone x (88% battery health) to an iPhone SE 2.

I got one a couple of weeks ago. The battery life is so-so for me, as it needs to be recharged every two days at least. A couple of hours of conversation and it needs to be recharged for the next day. The battery life seems shorter than that of my 2016 SE when it was new. I haven't really stabilized battery duration yet.
OTOH, the SE2 runs apps faster than the SE, has better wifi connection and recharging seems pretty fast with the provided plug adapter. I prefer the smaller size of the SE, though.

Well on a whim I picked up some 2nd gen AirPods for $85 off eBay since they have a 25% off coupon code right now.

It was mostly sold out and didn't realize while buying that its refurbished

oh well. I only wanted it for work calls. I have my power beats pro that i've been using, but I don't like that it muffles ambient sound since they go inside your ear

Time flies = Time-of-flight LIDAR sensor in iPhones.

Kinda obvious since it's already in the new iPad pros

time could also = Apple Watch
flies could also = air = iPad Air

BUTT if you view the event page on an iPhone or iPad, you can view the logo using AR.
So yea there is that too about TOF sensor ala iPad Pro 2020.

Someone also pointed out that the logo looks like a depressed person curled up in a ball with their arms crossed hugging their knees.

I can't unsee that now
