I get a pop up saying 'A new iOS update is available. Please update from the iOS 12 beta'. But when I go to Software Update in Settings, it says my software is up to date. Any ideas?

It got more annoying with time. I wouldn't put it past them to put it out as a test to see when we'd break down and report that something was wrong. :-)
It was just so blatant...and so sudden...and it increased in frequency as time went by.
I can't put two and two together in a way that would lead me to believe that the combination of facts points to a legitimate bug.
I have a sneaking suspicion that this might be a Fall rollout where I will not buy a new iPhone.
The 5.8" screen is perfect, to me, so I'm not going to fall for the 6.5" just because it's big.
It looks like the multicore score might jump from 10,500 (iOS 12 on iPhone X) to maybe 14,000. But that's the only real world improvement that I'm aware of, and I'm not sure that's enough to make me spend the money on a new one.
The Apple Watch, however, looks like a relatively much bigger improvement, if the rumors are to be believed.
Sounds like ass backwards logic but the Pixel 3 XL having a notch and screen quality potential kind of pushed me away from Android.
But most people I text with regularly have an iPhone. iMessage is really nice.
I feel stupid for replacing an iPhone with another iPhone, but at least it's been a two year gap. The bigger screen on the plus would be great, though I'm a little annoyed with how it messes with watching videos.
At least they are changing it up noticeably for this release.
I've always likened people who buy the same phone year after year to those who replace their Camrys with newer Camrys over and over. Nothing wrong with that, just insanely boring.
Every vehicle I've purchased has been drastically different than the one that preceded it, so I don't feel like I have double standards or blind loyalty.
I’ve felt the iPhone X has had worse signal strength and reception to past models. And the new one is supposed to much better in the that regard. For that alone I am upgrading.

Yeah, mine too. I dont think I need to upgrade, but you know.

How about you guys?
I don't feel like I need to upgrade my phone, but I can get a subsidized one from my provider this year, so I will likely get the larger XS.
I am ordering a new Watch the moment they come up on the Apple Store. My OG has served me incredibly well, I'm ready for a self contained GPS on my wrist.
I'm also ordering the updated AirPods. Mine have been flawless and my most used accessory since they were released, but the battery life is definitely reduced compared to when they were new.
There's been a nice price drop in SSD NAND chips (240GB SSDs are $40 on Amazon now) and they're expected to get a lot cheaper, that probably why Apple is rolling out the 512GB option.
Hate to say it, but my next phone will be an iPhone.
Apple has gotten to a point where their offerings aren't lacking compared to competitors. I want a phone with a great and big display without a notch, great camera, a headphone jack, with longevity (updates and battery life) but that doesn't exist so the XS Max will be the closest thing to it.
I don't care what the name is. It could be DogShitCuntHairSPlusX, I'd probably still get it.
Pixel 3 XL has a huge notch and no headphone jack, wtf? The Apple Watch OS seems so much better than Wear OS too.

when are they taking orders
?
I would like to upgrade my X to the bigger screen X
I have Bluetooth headphones too. But I have very nice wired headphones too.
I've forgotten to pack the aux adapter before on trips and it sucks ass.
If you had a 'nice set of headphones' you best better have a good portable amp/DAC to power it I use a lightning camera adapter and then plug in a portable DAC to power my in ear monitors so the non-existent headphone jack isn't a problem for me
