No I'm pretty sure I did. I sold my iPad 2 at the end of February so I guess that's all the apps that have made changes since then. Not surprising, I was just assuming it was going to download the latest version of the apps and not an old version.

Its annoying, cause Im doing the same shit right now...but you can just download an updated version of the app, until you get the version that was previously on your iPad from the cloud.
Since the cloud is a backup, it does not implement an auto update with in itself.

Maybe they do it in case you don't want to update your apps?

Question about this statement?
It just took seconds for me, is it wiped?
When you opt to “Erase All Content and Settings,” the process can take up to several hours. The time this process takes will vary by device

There are a number of differences between the AT&T and Verizon models of the new iPad, but for those who do plenty of travelling around America, Verizon seems to be the way to go. Not only is Verizon's LTE network larger — it covers more than 200 million Americans compared to AT&T's 74 million — but the Verizon iPad can also run on AT&T's 3G network by popping in the appropriate micro-SIM card. A member of the MacRumors forums has confirmed this by using the card from an AT&T iPhone 4S in a Verizon iPad, which, with a few tweaks to the carrier settings, managed to run on the new network — though, because of some compatibility issues, the swap won't let you connect to AT&T's LTE network. Meanwhile, PCMag even managed to get the Verizon iPad working on T-Mobile using the same trick. Though, in that case the device was restricted to the 2G EDGE, resulting in less than optimal speeds. While the news isn't all that surprising, it's definitely useful, especially if you're stuck in an area with poor Verizon coverage. Now the question is where you're going to buy your new tablet from.

iPhoto on the iPhone. A tad annoying because of no screen real estate.
iPhoto on the iPad. Pretty awesome. Still no where near as good as Lightroom but a great current iPad only alternative. I look forward to playing with it more over time.

I'm going to spend the money on some glasses. I played with a new one at Best Buy and couldn't see a difference from my first gen iPad.
Too much drinking and jerking will cause blindness, but it'll save you money in the long run from buying an updated hardware every year.

So, tried out the latest and greatest iPad. As a non-regular user, I can't see the difference (no, I'm not snarking) between this and the other iPads I've played with in the past.
Am I supposed to be looking for something (or what should be trying) to really see this retina display at its "full power"?

If you can't see the difference between a retina display and a non retina.. Sorry to say you need to get your eyes checked.
It's like when I upgraded from the iPhone 3GS to the 4.
Sure the phone and OS was pretty similar but the display is just pure gorgeous. Now I can't even use a non retina type display....

Try comparing the text to your wifes touchpad. The text on a retina display are much sharper and easier to see.

Old, but still makes a point.

"1080p provides the sharpest, most lifelike picture possible." "1080p combines high resolution with a high frame rate, so you see more detail from second to second." This marketing copy is largely accurate. 1080p can be significantly better that 1080i, 720p, 480p or 480i. But, (there’s always a "but") there are qualifications. The most obvious qualification: Is this performance improvement manifest under real world viewing conditions? After all, one can purchase 200mph speed-rated tires for a Toyota Prius®. Expectations of a real performance improvement based on such an investment will likely go unfulfilled, however! In the consumer electronics world we have to ask a similar question. I can buy 1080p gear, but will I see the difference? The answer to this question is a bit more ambiguous.

the screen improvement is similar to going from 540P to 1080P or like going from SD to HD if you can't see the difference then I don't know what to say. stick with the iPad 2 then and get rid of your HD TV.
