^Bro! JB your phone for mywi! greatest. app. ever. You don't have to do all that other JB shit just mywi and maybe my3g too, that's about all I use. I think limera1n works with 4.2, supposedly it can't be patched with out modifying hardware or something so, hopefully it'll be around for a while.
don't spend a minimum $15 each on the rare occasion you need 3G just spend $20 once.
In my experience I rarely whip out my ipad where there isn't wifi. Think about it, the ipad isn't as mobile as a phone and you won't be using it while walking down the street, in a car, waiting in line (why would you carry it into line with you) or thousands of other places that a phone is quick and convenient. you use the iPad at a place where you sit down and focus, like on your couch, at a cafe, even at a restaurant if you're a REAL douche (but you don't whip it out if standing while the restaurant is on a wait), at friends house, at work, etc. Everywhere it's comfortable to use the iPad it's very likely that there is wifi there. I can only think of one place that I go to that doesn't have wifi and that's Tijuana Flats (bomb ass mexi food place might not be in Cali) so during the 3 minutes I'm waiting for my food I can use mywi and tether my iPad or just use my iPhone. The only good reason to get 3G is for the GPS chip but even then you don't use this thing while you're moving

Sorry, Apple mobile device users, your first little pre-holidays gift has been delayed. Apple has reportedly canceled today's expected iOS 4.2 release, the controversial one that might or might not be lacking AirPrint. We'd hoped to solve that particular mystery before the weekend, but it seems we'll have to wait a little longer thanks to a serious looking connectivity bug plaguing the iPad. Many users of the Golden Master version of 4.2 reported that a WiFi connection could be established by their devices but, once made, they were unable to actually do anything on the 'net, and not being able to do anything on the 'net is what we like to call a Very Bad Thing. No word on exactly when a new version will be available, but it should still drop within the next few weeks.
haha! yes! I'm having wifi issues with this damn iPad on 4.2GM. The webs die the moment i turn the screen off. Then to get connected again I have to go to settings and then turn wifi off and then back on again. then it works again until i turn the screen off!

Oh and the orientation lock turning into a mute switch fuckin sucks! This is some bullshit!
Oh and guess what the new mute switch doesn't even fuckin work! It doesn't mute shit! It's now a broken piece of shit button that doesn't fuckin nothing it's completely worthless!
I now have to take four steps to do what I could do in one step and if I'm watching a video and I want to enable orientation lock when I double click the home button it pauses the video I'm watching so add another unnecessary step to the process. What the fuck were they thinking!?!?!?

Apple just seeded a new gold master of iOS 4.2 to developers (build 8C134b, as opposed to 8C134), which deals with the WiFi issue that apparently delayed the launch. As long as this build is free of any more killer bugs, that new copy of iOS should make its way to proletariat hardware soon -- though obviously this week looks like a no-go.

^^^^ how do i get one of these developer's builds if i'm not a developer... and what are the pros and cons (do you risk anything by installing it?) Im not into the jailbreaking and all that stuff you crazy kids do these days, just not patient enough to wait for 4.2 and am looking for a way to get it early!
