Widget/Scripts/Java --> Just work. Cocoa --Xcode (tweaks, recompile) --> A few days. Carbon - Xcode (twek, recompile) --> A few weeks. Carbon Apps --Metroweks -- Jobs says to transfer to Xcode. Over half of 100 developers using Xcode. Nex Xcode 2.1 delivered today. News Xcode generates a single "universal binary" that supports both processors. Available to everybody at registration desk following the keynote

As long as I can get a dual core AMD64 running OSX this is superb news...

If im suck on some POS intel P4EE or a itanium this will suck.

Reality is PC world had better HW than the Mac. So this isn't a bad thing, it'd just suck to be stuck on intel procssors.

Why does all sound/feel like a huge revolution.......

seems like its coming to what we all knew...a giant convergence in computers.

I'll have to wait until the keynote is available for download.

they're saying they chose Intel over AMD because they could acheive "greater performance per watt" ... meaning high speed laptops that dont need to be recharged as often (significant as today there is news of 8 hour batteries for laptops)
