Anybody know how to get out of a cell phone contract??

Does anyone know how to get out of a verizon cell phone contract without having to pay the $175 fee and not have a bad credit record?

You need to pay the remaining payments. In theory there is no way you can get away without paying the cancellation fee.

See if they will let you go to the cheapest plan they offer w/o adding an additional year on your contract, pay that and get out of the 175$ fee. Only problem is if your in month 2 of a 24/month contract.

hey penisbrain tell verizon that you are moving to an area where they do not have service. But then I think you would have to actually prove your address to them....somehow

even then verizon is a bunch of bastards and still would end up and you would end up like this

You can talk them down from that $175.

If you PAY THEM BACK whatever they GAVE YOU for signing the contract, I'm sure they'll let you go.

I got out of my Cell phone Contract

back in 1999....

My POS At&t phone kept breaking.... so I asked for a new one.. they kept sending me reconditioned ones...

Mind you, I was lying about it breaking ALL the time.. one time I scratched it pretty bad, called and complained the #2 key was sticking so they sent me another refurbished phone...

Long story short... went through about 4 phones... then I blew up and had enough...

Well.. the company I work for offered to put me on their plan so I needed to ditch mine...

Called Att told them i am starting to get dropped calls and I was unsatisfied... spoke with a supervisor, got a brand new phone.. called back the next month and complained about dropped calls.. they had record from the previous month.. told them I wanted out of my contract since the problems can not be worked out or I will file a complaint with the BBB...

they told me to fuck off...

So I filed with the BBB and what you know... they closed my account, waived all the fees and called me to appoligize while we conferenced called with the BBB person on the line...

They asked if I was satisfied and I said " This is what i asked for from the beginning, why did i have to go through all this just for you to listen"..... the rep replied "I am sorry sir but it was not me"..

Case Closed... but it took time... P.S. I stopped paying on the phone when they told me to fuck off and I guess to really piss me off they fucked up my plan and i was getting 400 cell phone bills.

Not worth the headache.... keep it in your car and only use it for emergency or do whatever it takes to carry out your contract.

This worked for a friend of mine who moved to Hong Kong a couple years back. He said he was moving and wanted to transfer his contract to HK. Since Verizon didn't have coverage in that area, they let him out. I asked if he had to prove it in some way, nope. They let him go. The trick might be that he stated he wanted to move the account but they couldn't do it. That might work.

Hehe, like I said, glad I don't work in the billing department...or in retentions.

Lowest percentage, but biggest in number. Do the math.

If NYC had 1% homeless people and Overland Park has 2% homeless people, who has more homeless people?
