For some reason, on my taskbar about 15 items have to load, and I will use msconfig, but for some reason the icons are not hidden and can not be brought back up by hitting that blue button with the white arrow like it usually does, so there is no autohide and 15 taskbar icons showing. How do I change it to autohide the icons to show only 4-5 or so like it normally does.

Thanks, by the way the system starts up quick, then it pauses for about 45secs-1 minute and then the ethernet icons come up in the taskbar and norton antivirus turns from disabled to enabled. Is norton causing this slow startup?

 

Yup, Norton be the issue, do you have the whole internet security suite running? If so, I would remove it, but that is just my opinion. TrendMicro is supposed to make an excellent internet security suite, but I have only used the AV, which finds stuff norton misses.

 

It is systemworks 2004, just running norton utilities and antivirus.
