I have an N4 and saw much better battery life with 4.3. Mainly for data & wifi. Touch response is a little better too but there is a bug with Netflix.

Oh wow I didn't read much on 4.3's improvement on battery. Guess I might take the plunge on updating.

I dont think 4.3 is really supposed to have battery improvements for the most part? Maybe its an indirect result of managing something else better. Battery life improvements are supposed to come with KLP

But then again, is battery really improved or is it just a placebo effect of having an updated firmware?

I can only say from my experience, but I noticed a big enough increase in on screen time for me to say that 4.3 improved my battery efficiency. Tested it doing the same exact things on one phone and also with 2 N4s side by side, one running 4.2.2 and the other 4.3.

Don't know the how, but I'm just glad it does. Haven't tested it on my N7, but I never worry about battery life on that anyways.

The whole "leaving wifi on in the background silently while not actively scanning for wifi networks to connect to when an app just needs it for location settings option that also makes it seem like wifi is on all the time, but not really" is a bit harder to understand, but it works.

Do you guys prefer go sms, handscent, or stock?

Is go sms and handscent basically the same thing?

Samsung caught boosting benchmark performance numbers on Exynos devices
Benchmarks often catch the ire of critics because their scores don't necessarily reflect real-world experience, and it appears that some Samsung devices aren't helping that reputation out at all. Our friends at Anandtech started sifting through data for two Exynos octacore variants of the Galaxy S 4, and discovered multiple benchmarks that appear to run those devices at higher CPU and GPU clock speeds than they normally run. Some of the apps included in the report are GLBench 2.5.1, AnTuTu, Quadrant and Linpack. Coincidentally, the site also found code within the GS4 that indicates the existence of a program called "BenchmarkBooster," which is responsible for overclocking the processors when certain apps are running. Is this an evil plot by Samsung to take over the world using rogue benchmarking results? Is this something other manufacturers are doing? It's hard to say, but there is certainly something curious afoot. Check out the source to get all of the skinny on what exactly is going on.

So you know how android has a problem with the group messaging, at least those bellow 4.2

Go sms has a setting to have proper threads for group messaging like the iPhone or how it should be! That's pretty neat I thought as I always hated it being split up. I dunno of it works on all phones but the feature works on my gs3

And I hate getting messages in separate threads I dunno why this wasn't released way before. Surprised not even samsung did it on their own.

Holy cow you guys are right. I'm getting much better battery life with this new firmware. Not sure if it's just the "day one" effect but I'm at 70% and I usually have about 50% at this time of the day.

There was way too much hype for the phone.
The one thing I a, curious about how much this will cost off contract. No way this is a $650 phone

That's exactly what I think. There's way top much overlap and everything gets posted I'm here that's android other than what ROM you're running on the nexus tablets.

My RazrM is still stuck on 4.1.2 and I am pissed... COME ON VERIZON

My nexus 7 is on 4.3 and I love the lock screen widget with the custom notifications, etc that came with 4.2..

Really want this shyt on the RazrM... 4.2 on the handset would be fine for now...

I wish Motorola priced this like the Nexus cause I would've picked up a spare just to tinker with. Then again, the bootloader is locked and they haven't said if there will be a way to unlock it.

And for the people dismissing the Moto X because of the specs...

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/vmO5LeWUEeM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Seems like Motorola optimized this phone to the max. You also have to remember not that many apps utilize the quadcore processors yet, let alone dual core processors. I'm guessing the 720p resolution vs. 1080p also played some part to the Moto X just being a tiny hair faster. I'm more interested in the always on listening mode. I hope that gets ported to other devices. (Probably will if it hasn't been done already.)

Possibly. It probably also has to do with the fact that the new Moto skin is very minimal its close to stock Android nowadays.

HTC One Google Play Edition 4.3 builds are out.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2390346

Supposedly the IR Blaster now works. I just need confirmation that Zoe works and I think I'll flash it or I'll just flash it any way. Lol. The S4 Google Play Edition 4.3 builds are out as well I'm guessing.

Alright I have a problem with my N7.
Putting it here since more people see this thread

So I guess my N7 restarted sometime at night and when I turned it on, I noticed that first my password lock wasnt there, nor was there a lockscreen.

Then a notification came up saying:
"Unfortunately, Google partner setup has stopped.

My notification bar, wifi, and home buttons dont work. I can force stop apps in the settings, but anytime i click clear cache it reboots.
I tried to do a factory reset and when I enter my password lock and click ok, then settings force closes. I'm not sure what to do.

I forced stopped google partner setup and gallery, those two popups came when the N7 would turn on that it wouldnt work. Now they dont come up anymore but that didnt solve anything.

Any help??

Kinda annoyed with this...

some other things to add, if i uninstall an app, it reboots and the app wont uninstall.
The notification bar actually comes down, its the other one with the toggles that doesnt.

Any way to fool the Xfinity video app or any other app that you're on WiFi when you're on 4G but without rooting? I know with iPhone you had 3G Unrestrictor but had to be jailbroken.

Here's an app that kinda of mimicks the feature of the Moto x for opening the camera app from anywhere as long as your phone is unlocked.
Obviously not quite as good as the moto x cause the phone needs to be unlocked but still pretty nifty!

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...wisty_launcher

the paid version lets you do two other motions for any app you choose. Free version just gives camera option

Definitely impressed with the LG G2. Waiting to hear a release period from Verizon for it.
