^^ To each, his own. Most Americans find American football incredibly more entertaining than "football".

...baseball too.

Even when DB came to the Galaxy...it was interesting for a few days/weeks...then the average sports fan just shrugged and moved on to continue watching the Big 4 sports.

I know.

Too many breaks in american football. Really, you need to rest every 10 seconds? I actually enjoy baseball quite a bit but the pace is slow.

their loss (or should i say the publics, b/c i know whatever 10 year old sitcom re-run they are showing instead is getting higher ratings unortunately)

people are evidently more inclined to pay to watch professional soccer live than basketball. or maybe the fans are just more hardcore, who knows.

either way, its a very interesting fact that cannot be ignored. also the growth of the sport over the last 10-15 years.

if every basketball team sold out regular season games, i could see your point there..

but im betting you can count the teams on one hand that have full houses throughout the week...

i've seen two bulls games at 3/4 capacity. maybe less... not a seating issue... there are just too many NBA games to make the regular season "important" if anything.

edit: it think you'll be suprised at how close the average ticket cost really are

Soccer > NHL > NCAA Football > NCAA March Madness > American Football > Golf (because it is perfect for taking naps) > Baseball & Basketball tied for most boring, although I don't mind going to baseball games but I don't really watch much of the game, more for the atmosphere.

Holt shit that opening ceremony was unbearable. I forgot it takes 3 hours to see all countries' athletes get introduced.

this ceremony doesnt really compare to china. They went in complete different directions.

China set out to wow the world to show how they have advanced, while London is going through history and things like that, which is well more boring.

He would have been the highest if the event was held at USC in Columbia, SC though.

NBC sucks, everything's fucking tape delayed. I hate how they still try to build suspense for stuff that already happened.

What do you expect when London is 8 hours ahead.
Or 5 hours in your case.

You want to watch it live, then goto te NBC olympics website.

Only event I saw live on TV was boxing.

The website has the raw footage with minimal commentary.

I'd say I watched 80% of Beijing online.

Can't recall a time I've ever cared less about the Olympics. And wow, what a wacky opening ceremony. I DVR'd it for the wifey and we rolled thru it in 10 minutes.

Even if you are not a fan of soccer, if you ever experience a World Cup event live, you cannot help but get caught up in the reverie. Simply blows away the Olympics by comparison.

that and the LED lights on the seats were the only cool things haha. But the rest of the event wasnt as good as china's, although i did forget a lot of theirs. I just remember it being better haha dunno why.
