Yeh, beckett has sucked his last couple times out... This was REALLY bad, as it fucked up the bullpen... Tonight we've got David Pauly (who??) going, and the kid has one major league start. 7 days ago he was in AA Portland, so he might need some bullpen help....

I expect the Sox to make some moves to get some help from Pawtucket (AAA)...

What I liked is the Yankees scrubs put a whooping on you guys against your #2 pitcher. Now watch the Yanks get destroyed by a rookie tonight. The Yanks need help too since Smalls, Chacon & Farnsworth are useless.

The funny thing is that they aren't scrubs, they are actually good ball players. There is just no room for them in that all-star pre-requisited line up.

Once again CL Platano you show that you are an educated Yankees fan. Not some Yankees yahoo. I compare the a Yankees yahoo to the idiot Sox fan who loves the "Yankees suck" chant. (I hate that friggin chant) I always appreciate talking smack with an educated Yankee fan like you.

Anyway, yeah both teams are in trouble right now. Both teams have some major holes and Toronto is hanging around. I wouldn't be surprised if it remains a 3 team race in the east all the way through September the way things are going right now.

ummmm...GO SOX!

Thanks man, I agree most fans don't understand the rivalry. I have tons of friends who are Boston fans only because there are Dominicans on the team. I just shake me head at them. If the Yanks are doing bad, I'll admit it. If you look at both teams right now, neither have the advantage. In order to go to the playoffs this year , you have to win the east because no other east team will win the wild card.IMO

But Mark, the Yankees really do suck !!

Seriously, both are teams are pretty beat up now... (the yanks probably have it worst), but it's interesting to see how close they are in the standings... and still at the top of the division.

The replacements have really played well. Melky Cabrera is hitting ~.315 and Andy Phillips has been hitting like a monster the past week or so. If these two can keep it up (a la Robinson Cano last year) the Yankees will be OK. Of course, there's always the threat that the Boss will trade them to get bigger and better names for the YES Network.

Was I hallucinating yesterday or did I see a Yankee runner score from first without the ball ever being batted into play?

Yep, I guess they never practiced what to do when the shift is on and the runner on 1st tries to steal 2nd... and no one is covering 3rd... and the catcher makes a bad throw to 2nd...

Bad News Bears type of stuff :gheylaugh:

Then there was the deal later where the umps called a double play only an out... (batter hits blooper in front of the plate, Tek tags him out... runner on 1st goes to 2nd, but steps of the bag and is tagged out, but umps send him back to 1st).

That wasn't our fault that was the dumb home plate umpire's fault. Cairo hit the ball straight down in fair territory and his initial call was foul and then he realized it was fair and even pointed to the spot the ball hit in fair territory but it was too late cause Cairo didn't run ( not like he would of made a real effort anyway ). The Red Sox did everything right on that play ( best throw Varitek made all season ) but the umps blew the call and knew they had to reverse to avoid getting in trouble from their boss.

Is that what he said ?? I could have swore he said mama pinga elephanta

David Paully pitched a pretty good game, but it just didn't go well in the 7th... He lasted alot longer then I thought he would, so I guess that's a positive...

I don't know...my Oilers lost their goalie for the remainder of the series. The most important thing in the Stanley Cup playoffs is a goalie. They're in trouble!

The sox have a good chance, The bullpen is rested at least if wright can't pitch. Here's hoping wright doesn't trip over the mound & break something.
