That was painfull to watch. At least it's only May. The 9th was good, but even I knew with 2 outs, after the 2 home runs, they weren't going to score another 4 runs to tie it.

To me the Yankee-Red Sox battle isn't too important till August, now it's fun to talk shit with the Boston Fans AD, JC and Greenie but in August is when it really matters and I begin to grey hair and have to monitor my blood pressure. I see it's gonna be tough for either team to make it to the playoffs, like last year it will come down to the final 2 weeks. I tell my token Red Sox fans around my way as long as the Yankees are within 3 games it's never over and the regular season doesn't mean nothing October is what we live for

Very well stated (even though you're a Yankee fan)

I agree wtih your playoffs point. I think it will almost be impossible for the wild card to come out of the east this year since Toronto is not a joke anymore and Detroit has emerged as a good team in the central making that division a 3 team race as well. We'll see as the season goes.

Wakefield tonight...He could completely fool the Yanks tonight or be a huge disaster. It won't matter because for some reason the Sox can't score runs for him when he is on the hill this year.

I love how Yankee fans are all of a sudden downplaying these big series between the Mets and Sox. I.E. The Mets shouldn't have celebrated that first win against the Yankees because the games wasn't that important. Now that there teams isn't invincible for once, it's more about having fun than who wins or loses to them I've heard more "I'm Yankee fan, but i like the Mets too" this year than I ever have before...

The only reason why I root for the Mets is Willie Randolph, since I grew up wanting to play 2nd base like him. A series between the 2, I will definately root for the Bombers.

I think the problem right now is Ron Guidry. It'll take Guidry a little while to work through what RJ is doing wrong. RJ's velocity is a bit down, but he's still throwing in the low to mid-90s. The problem is there's no movement on his pitches.

He's always been a dead fastball pitcher - he needs to learn how to spot his pitches and mix it up a little bit more.

If he wants to hang around any longer and be successful in the big leagues he MUST be honest with himself about his age and declining skill level and adapt to the changes. I just think he's in denial right now about starting to lose his stuff...

There are two things in baseball that often sickens me. Seeing the Cheater from SF hit and play the game. And seeing two other Cheaters play for the Yanks (a team I dislike as much as the Red Wings) that just won't fold like the Royals despite all the ancients that they have.

from the angry Yankees mob.

Giambi is such a deformed mutant. The guy's face and head look like he was injecting directing into the bridge of his nose.

They need to retest this loser again. It's unfortunate (and lucky for people like Giambi and Sheffield) that Barry's getting all the attention...

There is no way that Giambi could've rediscovered his batspeed or have his turnaround esp. with the way he was hitting after he got caught with the Balco fiasco. No way. He was so lost at the plate, he should've been a benchwarmer on a Double-A team.

The wonders of Human Growth Hormone.

I still want to hear the real story behind that fag's little "virus" thing he had that made him deflate not too long ago. He's a joke.

Well, once you stop taking flaxseed oil, it lowers your immune system and makes your body susceptible to infection, stupid.

You can't prove he did or didn't just like I can't. So your statements have no credit. It's your Not fact.
Any good player of any sport can improve themselves. Be it physical or mental. Giambi's was mental. Look what he went through. Can you say if you went through all that & had serious physical problems on top of it you wouldn't be effected?

One book, a few players, & 1 scandle & now everyone who belts HR's is juicing or was juicing?? That's just ignorant thinking.

Thats what they said the other day on ESPN, unfortunately Pujols has to deal with all the questions and stares. At the end of the Red Sox still suck.

Mental. That's why he was a Balco client, right? That's why his face looks like it's going to explode.

Right. He was in a book? Sorry, that book came later...

Giambi was called to a Grand Jury and tied to Balco long before "Game of Shadows" came out. When he contracted that "virus", Giambi literally shrunk and was beyond lost at the plate. He couldn't hit a beachball if it was thrown at him. Somehow, mysteriously, he's regained his stroke and his size has grown back...Sorry, I call BS on it's just him regaining his "talent". He's a cheater and yes, that's my ...

And oh, Sheffield's a cheater too.

A few days late but . .
Farnsworths' strike out of ortiz that last game, that is what usually happened 2+ years ago to someone named nomar when he was around. since then, In those situations, the sox would kill the yankees (Ortiz as always, but i also remember Rivera blowin a few with GWinning HRs to Mueller, and i think Nixon). Hopefully, that game will turn things around for NY. It does seem that they arent comfortable anymore playing Boston.

Yes, now if the Yankees put together offense can get some runs off Beckett. This game & the one with RJ & Wakefield should be the best games.
