I gotta hand it to Miami, they played great despite having their star player injured. In the end it was one of the best 7 game series I've seen in a long time and Detroit just got a couple breaks (jump ball comes to mind), and Chauncy made some HUGE free throws.

Now onto the Spurs, hope Detroit's D can slow down Duncan a little bit.

Word..Miami just choked at the end turning the ball over twice in the last 2 minutes.I probably won't watch 1 game..

Yeah the last 2 minutes was just awful. Too many dumb plays. That's experience right there. Now Stan, Wade, and whoever else sticks around for next year have a conference finals in their belt. Haslem is going to be a free agent though and we can't pay him that much.

It can be pretty interesting with the spurs starting guards pretty active and looking for fast breaks.

The key for detroit would be to stop the two guards. Let Tim have his way, but limit the rest of the team.

No doubt that it will be a defensive matchup, but still interesting to watch, at least for me.

Yeah they'll have to contain both Parker and Ginobili. Unlike Miami both G's can penetrate and shoot the 3 so doubling will be tough. You leave one open then the other connects. Then of course with Tim causing havoc in the middle and Horry hitting 3's, they have a very dangerous offense. This will probably be a higher scoring series than the Miami one.

I really wanted to see Shaq in the Finals again, so he can continue to make the Lakers and Kobe look bad for what they did..I don't know if anyone saw but he has a reality show on ESPN about his family life, it was pretty cool..

I don't agree with that, it will be low scoring game since the defense will be there. Remember that the spurs played dallas, hense the high scoring on their part. With detroit it will be totally different.

I think the Lakers look bad enough considering they didn't even make the playoffs. And yeah that show on ESPN is entertaining. Life of a millionaire.

You could be right.

@ San Antonio they lost 80-77. Ben Wallace's first game back from the brawl.

@ Detroit 110-101. That was the game Duncan sprained his ankle. Funny SA scored more in that game than the prior. The first sentence of the recap was a preview of the Finals.

NBA finals are going to be aired on ABC.

Does anyone else not like the coverage of NBA on ABC?
Even their theme song sucks.

NBC theme song was awesome.

One thing is for sure... this is a great finals for the purists. There is not two more fundamentally sound teams in the NBA anywhere. For most outside of SA and Detroit, it will be tough to watch for all 48 minutes, but the 4th quarters should be exciting.

Lets break the analysis down into matchups for the starting five. Maybe we can gain some insight by doing this.

First Duncan, he will most likely be guarded by Wallace. I think Tim will have to get his shot to fall if he will be able to do some damage. Once he can start hitting his bank shots, wallace will have to guard him outside, which will lead to Tim being able to easily get inside and get fouled.

So if Tim can shoot, the matchup favors the spurs, no surprise there.

Stay tuned for more analysis.

Rasheed or Ben?

I think Rasheed will be guarding Duncan. They will keep Ben on the inside because Prince will be on Manu, which will take away Ginobli's jumper but leave them vulnerable to his speed. So they need Ben back there to help out while Duncan (and his defender) is hovering at the top of the key.

That being said, SA has some matchup problems with Billups. Both their guards are undersized, and can't prevent billups from posting them up. You saw him do it to Damon Jones in the miami series, and it will be even easier for him against SA.

Both teams have equal mismatches....so it'll boil down to the home court advantage and the reliability of Horry's miracle shots.

What a bunch of bullshit, maybe the refs can start making fair calls any time now. C'mon there was 2 obvious charges by Ginobili in a row.

Detroit did get outplayed in the 2nd half, but jesus there were some horrible no calls that went against detroit. Thats pretty typical tho, Detroit always get the shaft with the refs. And yeah Sheed complains too much, he had a pretty crappy game too.

like I said, detroit needs to stop the two guards if they want to win....they did that during the first half, but did not follow through in the second half, which cost them the game...I still have faith in detroit, if they will make the adjustments in the next game and get a win, they have a very good chance to beat the spurs.

Detroit has disappointed me in the way they are playing in this series. One of the announcers said that the spurs are playing as a team, while detroit is playing an individual game. That is exactly whats going on, I don't see any set plays being called, and I see a whole lot of posting up, but no extra pass to get the ball to the free man. I also see alot of forced shot attempts, which shows with the poor fg percentage detroit is shooting at.

I have to give credit to the spurs, their guys performed well, the key guys did exactly what their role asked them to do, which means a certain victory.

If detroit doesn't play like a team, they will be on a vacation very soon.

Spurs: good job
Pistons: start watching tapes

I can't stand the Pistons after watching the last 2 series. What a bunch of crybabies. Prince is one of the biggest actors I have seen in a while. He also needs to hit the weight room or eat something.
