NFL: 2019 Season News and Discussion Thread

Good. Kraft can go to jail. Brady can leave. Pats can lose picks and get fined. McDaniels can take his ways elsewhere.

My theory? Pats got caught cheating. So, they couldn't realllllly cheat much this game. And then, with the rain, well, we all see what Brady is like...without PERFECT conditions and without the aid of cheating.
Pats lose when they are on even ground against an NFL team.

might be his last game as a Patriot and his last play is an INT.
It's weird because I seriously still remember seeing him play for the first time while I was at The Good Guys in 2001! (same year I sign up at AZ!)

I just went back and counted, I think the Cleveland Browns have started 30 different QBs in that time frame.

I think the Pats are all being so vague about Brady (including Brady himself) because I think his future is going to be tied to a transition plan. The Pats won't just let Brady go without knowing who the replacement is and when that replacement will take over. If the Pats know who that is now, I think you may see the scenario where they offer Brady one more year to transition in the new guy and then over to Brady to decide if that's what he wants. Or maybe the horizon is 2 years to acquire and groom the next QB. So I think the first thing is the Pats need to identify the transition plan (and they probably already have one), and then they'll present Brady with a scenario about how he fits into that, and then Brady can decide if that works for him.

They have not really called that push-off all year (unless it was done against someone on the Pats which would be an automatic game misconduct, $1B fine, 43245 draft picks, and next 24 straight NE possessions) so, it was the right no-call even if I did not want Minny to win.

but Taysom Hill will be exciting to watch, the guy can throw, run and receive and even plays on the special teams (sucks for Bridgewater though... he actually did pretty good when Brees was out)

I would say it played a little bit of both. Coaching more so though. The plays that were called on certain downs over the years just left you scratching your head. It was the same plays all the time. Never got creative and very predictable. Should be interesting if he carries the same playbook to Dallas or not. Wish him luck though.

Honestly dallas probably not the worst place if you can stand the owner. Basically you got a serviceable QB with a great RB, big market/decent city to live in, nice facilities, and probably really good fringe benefits. You just have to basically be like a yes man to Jerry and be able to withstand all the media attention and drama...

You just have to be able to win in spite of Jerry, not because of him. And I'm not sure that's possible. If the guy who is the problem is not self-aware enough to know he's the problem, you can only do so much. But other coaches have done it. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
