Mired in a losing streak. Brady's no-touching-by-opponents cheat code is no longer working because he needs even more help than just the refs...What do you do? Resort to more cheating.

Someone help me clarify the situation. So the Patriots sent members of their marketing staff team to Cleveland, asked permission from the Browns to use their press box, set up camera equipment, then proceeded to record the Bengals, all while standing directly next to the camera equipment in Patriots gear? Sounds like some high level cheating system

He was in Bruins gear...

The details behind the Patriots cheating allegations are eye-opening

The New England Patriots are being investigated for allegedly filming the Cincinnati Bengals’ sideline during week 14 and slowly but surely, the details are starting to come out.

According to the Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr., the Patriots’ crew team, who claimed to be gathering footage for an episode of the Patriots series ‘Do Your Job’, filmed eight straight minutes of footage of the Bengals' sideline with a “direct view” of Cincinnati coaches’ signals. The video was later confiscated and is being looked into by the league.

Patriots coach Bill Belichik insisted he had no idea about what was happening and had this to say on the matter:The following is an excerpt from Pro Football Talk:

“Yeah I heard about this. You know, evidently this is our production people on the TV show that were there. We have nothing to do with anything they produce,” Belichick said. “I’ve never even seen their tapes. This is something we had 100 percent nothing to do with.”

The Patriots also issued a statement of their own:

The Patriots also issued a statement of their own:

The timing of the whole situation is just a tad bit suspicious. The Patriots are set to visit Cincinnati on Sunday and are hoping to snap a three-game losing streak. New England was fined $250,000 and stripped a first round pick in 2007 after they were caught filming their opponents’ signals.

John Breech@johnbreech

During Spygate investigation, NFL found that Patriots had excuses ready in case an advance scout got caught filming another team. One of those excuses: Tell them you need the footage for a team show.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but the really curious part of this story is going to all that effort to spy on a 6-10 team last year who is 1-12 this year. At team that bad doesn't require exotic methods to obtain an edge. You more or less show up and play the game.

When this all clears nobody will care and the Pats will still be called cheaters. So what's the point of me even arguing at this point

Why do you feel compelled to argue at all? Being a fan of a team doesn't enlist you as a team attorney.

Also being a fan of a team doesn't mean you have to be on their side on 100% of the issues. But I mean pats cheating....cheaters gonna cheat!

This extends to lot of other famous people as well. You can be a fan of a part of their talent but still hate them for very legitimate reasons....whether they are actors, musicians, etc.

but was it even necessary to "steal" coaches' signals from the Bengals?

What I find hilarious here is that they have to cheat against the Bengals.

Uhh. This is suspicious AF, coming from a guy who actually likes the Patriots (yes, I know, roast me - but the Patriots never screwed over my team. On the contrary, they gave my team their franchise QB)

Admittedly I didn't follow the cheating allegations much, but I really respect The Athletic as a journalist institution. Doubt they would throw this around lightly.

What it says to me is that this is their weekly practice and they just got caught filming the Bengals. Given the history, and the preestablished list of excuses if they're caught it's pretty evident that this was a standard method of operation for them. For anyone that wants to say they did nothing wrong, filming the sideline during a game is ILLEGAL by NFL rules. The fact that they were blatantly filming the sideline and coaches also is no accident

he "did" grow up in Northern California and was a big 49ers fan, I can actually see that, he'd be a backup to Jimmy G. and just retire there

You'd think he would want to retire a Cheater with what he has accomplished there.

Well, we'll get to see how lousy he is outside of the Patriots' system. It would settle alot of things, TBH.

John Lynch is a savage. Two off-seasons ago, he asked Belichick what the trade price for Garoppolo was and was turned away.

Lynch then asked if Brady was available

We will keep Jimmy G, thanks. He is literally getting better every single week.

“but the Niners haven’t played anyone”

Montana is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> than Brady.

The former never relied on deflated balls, spying, and other cheating shenanigans.

Put it this way, Rex Grossman or Cade McNown on the Patriots would've won 234143 Lombardis.

Well that's a wrap. Lamar Jackson is getting MVP and will be on Madden cover next year. So that means guaranteed injury for 2020-2021 season? My condolences to Ravens fans

The Jets looked terrible last night. Or maybe Baltimore is just good enough to make them look terrible. I lost count of how many passes Jackson threw to a receiver who was all by themselves with no defender around them.
