Lost my voice. A great game, one which I honestly expected them to lose. It all started earlier in the week with Gould (who admittedly hasn’t been great) and Kittle being injured.
I’m just glad the rivalry is alive again. Also, welcome to what 49ers fans have endured all season: drops on drops on drops.

The opportunities for Seattle to have take aways on defense was insane. Seemed like every pass was tipped and in/out of their hands. I think this was one of the better MNF games in awhile! Congrats to the Hawks. Thankfully the hype of of the 9ers undefeated season comes to an end before they play the Packers after our bye week next week. Will be interesting how we handle them in the Bay area...

I can't believe Josh Gordon made those clutch catches first time out with the team. I think he only had a couple but they were for big first downs. The team says he's doing well... And Lockett is out with a swollen left leg, hope he's OK. We're much better with him.

Helmet hits to the head are always going to be called from now on. It is what it is. From the time you start playing, if you are properly taught, you are always taught to NOT lead with your head. These guys should be able to make that adjustment easily, yet they don't.

Just beat the Eagles! Ok?

Some lead with their shoulders and the runner/receiver will curl to a fetal position and end up making contact with the helmet. That should not fall on the defensive guy for a penalty. Also they need to get rid of brushing the helmet of a QB, with your hand trying to swap for the ball, for a roughing the passer call.

Sherman went in for a tackle late in the game, head completely down, crown of the helmet initiating contact with the runner’s helmet, and there was no call. I can understand why the rule is there, but they aren’t even close to using it consistently.

The most consistent thing about refereeing is the inconsistency. Just gotta overcome it, and hope the call didn’t screw you over too much.
Armstead looked like he was in a headlock on one play and it wasn’t called. Also the Clay Matthews hit on Wilson some weeks ago... weak. Fined for it too
I think subjectivity of it is the problem. But generally they’ll call it more on QBs and receivers in “defenseless” positions.
There’s a video of the OT coin flip, sounds like the player says tails, ref says heads. It was heads. In this case though, both teams got the ball twice.

Sound bit sounds like tails, lips read heads. The zebras for sure are at fault for controlling some games this year. It is painful to watch for either team that some calls do affect them more than others. I do like how they have picked up some flags this year for making a mistake, but seems to be happening a lot! Also, need to figure out what a PI call is and stay consistent...

The league is making a concerted effort to protect QBs. Incidental contact is going to happen, and therefore flags are going to be thrown. It's the new NFL.

NFL is in a tough spot because if it's shown that playing this game shortens your life by decades then the pipeline of athletes will dry up quick. I say all that just to make the point I think we're just in for more and more of these kind of calls. It will be the new normal. We'll get the ticky-tack calls right along with the ones needed to prevent long tern consequences.

Next step might be a sky judge like the AAF had. Challenges are gimmicky

We take it in turns to act as sort of an executive referee for the week. But all the decisions of that referee have to be ratified by a special bi-competitive council made up of fans of each team. By a simple majority, in the case of purely positional affairs, but by a two thirds majority in the case of more major situations.

They could do a fan participation thing.

No matter the call, if it’s to the detriment of the Cowboys, Packers, Raiders, or the NFC West, I will never vote to overturn it

QBing is hard. And when drafting developing a QB, it's not an exact science. Anyways, not for everyone but the Tribune wrote an outstanding piece on what happened in the draft class of Watson, Mahomes, and Mitch and why Chicago went with who they did and what has happened since...

Good read. As a Bears fan, it is painful too because of the uncertainty and the disappointment from a season that most had thought Chicago could contend. Is Mitch the next Brees as originally envisioned or the next RGIII? And before you snicker, let's not forget Brees was benched in year 3 and his team that year was 1-7.

Meh. I still support Kap’s cause, but ultimately I don’t think the talent is there. Stats don’t tell the whole story, he was great at throwing short of the sticks and missing reads. I don’t think he makes a Randall Cunningham/Vick-esque comeback.
Regarding Trubisky, hey fans will be reactionary. Despite the realization, I am guilty of it too.
I wanted to pimpslap Jed York for choosing Baalke over Harbaugh. Years later he learned his lesson and has a great front office and coaching staff.
