I watched it all - the energy was completely different with Mayfield. His passes - for the most part - looked very sharp. Quick release, decisive throws. I think the fact he came in an overcame the deficit for the first win in 600+ days probably gets him the start going forward. I think there would be a riot if not based on the fact the crowd was chanting for him. He's got a ways to go of course, so I don't think he's going to set the world on fire but I think he'll make them more competitive than they have been. I'm not picking him up for fantasy - they are clearly emphasizing the run game and ran most of the time on short-and-goal.

But I was happy for Cleveland. Would have been fun game to be at.

 

Totally agree he will be the starter going forward, just hope he's more prepared than Johnny Football or the other assclowns they've had over the years. I saw a pic someone posted from the stadium and it was empty, hardly anyone there to witness such an amazing comeback which I think is a shame. Definitely happy for Cleveland, even though they now have a better record than the Steelers

Exactly. In just 2 games he is already in the GOAT conversation with the likes of Rodgers and Brady. Another record: shortest NFL debut to be talked about as a GOAT. Mahomes is an absolute unit.

 

In fairness, Mahomes is on a much better team and Trubisky didn't play with a real offense last year. He wasn't really allowed to do anything.

That being said, Mahomes has been nuts.
