NFL: 2018 Season News and Discussion Thread
:woot: Football is back
|
Good call on the new thread. Posting this again:
Anyone doing any road trips for games? I'm headed with my tailgate group to Bengals vs Indy next weekend, and Bengals v Panthers in late September. I've never been to either stadium. |
I hope to head back to Chicago to catch a game at Soldier Field but yeah...not sure if I can head back this year. :bored:
Bears may not be very good yet this year anyways. :bored: |
Giants!!!

Go Broncos! I need to get me some of Von’s eggs... :ponder: |

You ok with giving up two first round picks?
There was stupid like trading against themselves for Mitch but to give up 2 first rounders for a player that is arguably in the Top 3 for pass rushers in the League is worth it. You either pay a ransom for a QB or for this...and for once, Pace actually made a trade or acquisition I did not raise an eyebrow at. That Bears D will be very much Bears-football again this season. The O may not be great to look at but if it can be serviceable, at least Chicago can actually play a game or two PAST 16... I like it. Very happy...for once...after so long as a Bears fan. |
!skol!

So I guess Gruden just thought he was overrated or what?
Also saw that they released Martavis Bryant after giving the Steelers a 3rd round pick for him. |

They probably couldn't get a deal done with Mack. That's why this situation dragged out as long as it did. Fangio got had a loaded staff on the 49ers but damn was he a good DC. |

He has a possible drug suspension looming. Might be some other issues too - but I think this has more to do with off the field issues, not on.

If the Raiders didn't have to get rid of a 2nd round pick, it would have been pretty lopsided for them. Sometimes paying a bunch of money to hang onto a premier player isn't worth it, especially if it's going to tie up a bunch of money. But time will tell if those 2nd rounders will pay off. The value will be finished if they end up being late picks |
Grudens got a huge ego to trade away the best OLB currently in the game.. pretty sure he just wanted flexibility in his 10 year plan and didn't want to be tied down but trading away Mack is insane. He could look like a genius or a moron in 3 years time but we'll have to wait and see.
Mack would've been huge especially with the type of team Gruden is fielding this season. They lack players who can spread the field so they'll slowly grind their way down the field on offense and try and be stout on defense. |
I dont want this thread to get political with the Kaep story, save that for the other thread, but I thought Yum would get a good laugh out of this

As a Fins "fan" I appreciate the Cutler pic as well.
What's up with Bell. Teammates calling him out too. |

I really hope Bell keeps holding out. Just helps my fantasy team even more. |

I think the franchise and transition tags will be a big issue during the next CBA discussions.

I would love for him to have a big year, great kid and very talented. I'm hoping he runs for 200 yards against Cleveland on Sunday lol
|
AP named starter. Dang it should've drafted him.

Very late given his assumed status of a backup |
So is the Atlanta defense better than anticipated or was the Philly offense more mediocre than anticipated?
