Good call on the new thread. Posting this again:

Anyone doing any road trips for games? I'm headed with my tailgate group to Bengals vs Indy next weekend, and Bengals v Panthers in late September. I've never been to either stadium.

I hope to head back to Chicago to catch a game at Soldier Field but yeah...not sure if I can head back this year.

Bears may not be very good yet this year anyways.

For him? Heck yes. He's not a pass-rusher like Peppers or Allen who are 30 or past that...Mack is still young and just getting into his prime. He's a perfect fit for Fangio's schemes too at 3-4.

There was stupid like trading against themselves for Mitch but to give up 2 first rounders for a player that is arguably in the Top 3 for pass rushers in the League is worth it. You either pay a ransom for a QB or for this...and for once, Pace actually made a trade or acquisition I did not raise an eyebrow at. That Bears D will be very much Bears-football again this season. The O may not be great to look at but if it can be serviceable, at least Chicago can actually play a game or two PAST 16...

I like it. Very happy...for once...after so long as a Bears fan.

So I guess Gruden just thought he was overrated or what?

Also saw that they released Martavis Bryant after giving the Steelers a 3rd round pick for him.

He has a possible drug suspension looming. Might be some other issues too - but I think this has more to do with off the field issues, not on.

They probably couldn't get a deal done with Mack. That's why this situation dragged out as long as it did.

Fangio got had a loaded staff on the 49ers but damn was he a good DC.

From the article I read he was not practicing very much because of small ailments that they felt he should have pushed through, and that he was basically out worked by the other WRs. McKenzie said the possible suspension had nothing to do with it so who knows. The sting of losing a 3rd round pick probably feels the same either way.

I feel like if you're Gruden you have to get that deal done. I get that he wants "his" guys but now they have no stability on D and I'm sure a lot of pissed of players on the roster. I guess time will tell what he turns those draft picks into.

If the Raiders didn't have to get rid of a 2nd round pick, it would have been pretty lopsided for them.

Sometimes paying a bunch of money to hang onto a premier player isn't worth it, especially if it's going to tie up a bunch of money. But time will tell if those 2nd rounders will pay off. The value will be finished if they end up being late picks

Grudens got a huge ego to trade away the best OLB currently in the game.. pretty sure he just wanted flexibility in his 10 year plan and didn't want to be tied down but trading away Mack is insane. He could look like a genius or a moron in 3 years time but we'll have to wait and see.

Mack would've been huge especially with the type of team Gruden is fielding this season. They lack players who can spread the field so they'll slowly grind their way down the field on offense and try and be stout on defense.

He was traded to the Raiders with 1 drug suspension already set in stone, from what I'm hearing he has a second drug suspension on the way

I think the franchise and transition tags will be a big issue during the next CBA discussions.

I wish James Conor a super productive year replacing Bell. I stashed him in all my leagues so far in hope of Bell holding out for many weeks.

And their defense ran out of gas. 4th quarter there was a Falcons player down after almost every play.

Backup QB (ok SB MVP backup QB)
2nd string receivers
Getting a win nonetheless...Priceless

So is the Atlanta defense better than anticipated or was the Philly offense more mediocre than anticipated?
