you go to betting booth, you tell them how much you are betting, you give them that amount. You get a ticket, like a lottery ticket. If you lose you paid them already. If you win, you go back to the booth and give them ticket, they give you money in return. Money depends on the odds at that time. So for next week, it may be 49ers 1:1.3 or whatever. Meaning if you bet $20 on the 49ers and they are favored, and they win, you will win like $17. If you bet on the Giants and they are the underdog, you may win $26 on your bet.

I think its good for a year, if you leave vegas after you fly you can ask about mailing it in to redeem, I think some do that.

Over/Unders just means you choose whether an outcome is over or under a certain number.

So if Vegas says the total points scored in the game will 48. You either bet that the total points scored are above that number or below it.
