houston had their 22 game win streak, but besides that, had a mediocre year, albiet w/ yao injured.

The west is really too close to call, but i'd also agree that it'd be the lakers, and hornets coming out of the west. I want to see philly come out of the east. Hopefully they hurry up and lock down iguodala, and they'll have a very strong team.

i think the clips opening game is their only nationally televised. I guess that might give them some pressure to get that team working together from the start...


I need to find some clipper tickets for around xmas time.......I doubt I could afford, or my family would let me go to the lakers/celtics game

looking at the schedule, Maybe I can try and make it to the clips/philly game on dec. 31st. Clips against brand might make for an interesting story, but that game would be their 2nd meeting.

 

^^clips vs. GS might be pretty fun to watch too. Drama and run and gun.

 

yea GS will be a great game too. Davis, and Maggette on opposite sides. I would definitely want to catch one of those, if they were playing while I was in town..


Also Clips 2nd game of the season is against Denver....probably won't be as much drama as if it were being played in Denver though.

I really don't think you can take anything away from the games they played against eachother last season. They really need to at least meet up in the playoffs before you start making some conclusions.

The Rockets are hardly the Celtics. Not at this point. I like their personnel on-paper, but they aren't the Celtics.

 

One obvious thing everyone needs to keep in mind is injuries. Without injuries the playoff picture may have been a lot different. The impact of missing Bynum, Yao, Brand, Oden, just to name a few, was tremendous. So, ya, on paper there are some pretty formidable lineups out there. But, to paraphrase Chris Berman, "thats why they play the game".

 

Mann, portland is going to make some noise this season. Lakers, Definitely going to be interesting to see bynum and gasol together in the lineup. And Yao back plus the growing houston, its going to be fun and even more competitive in the west. hmmm, i reaalllyyy wonder how the clips are going to do with new team.

You have to imagine that Lakers, Hornets, Spurs, Rockets, Blazers, Suns, and the Jazz will be better than them. But the last spot? Dallas have somewhat better personnel than the Clips, but new coaching and Kidd. GSW always seems to have a chance at that last spot too.

Doesn't look so good to me. They've gotta beat out Dirk and Kidd, and GSW for that last one. I would imagine the games would be fun to attend, but getting to the playoffs will be tough.

I was hoping they'd give livingston another chance, but it looks like they might've given up on their 'franchise' point guard.

I surprised no one has picked up quinton ross either. I would've liked to see both of them back on the clips, even though they didn't have a whole lot of success.

But now the clips got two guys from the 'worst team in the league'.....

 

J-Will's damaged goods. I'd be really surprised if he can play defense. He was such a liability for us last year.

I like what memphis is doing though. Getting young and athletic between gay, oj, and and maybe smith, they have the makings for a strong team in the future.
