I still don't really understand it. I was hoping to see some of the crazy passes he used to make back in the day (although I used to get so mad when he'd just start jacking up 3's). Maybe even see him and bdiddy share the court would be awesome.
I think a lot of people will miss him and his streetball style though.

Tinsley to Nuggets
Pacers traded Jamaal Tinsley to Nuggets for Chucky Atkins and Stephen Hunter
...not a bad move if Tinsley can stay healthy IMO

I think denver and indy are saying the nypost reported too early

still..........I guess it can go through, but not official yet. Seems like they should be pretty willing to take anything for tinsley.
other news, Miami is supposedly on the brink of signing livingston ...I guess we still can't trust riley when he said it was a dead issue.

not really big news but elgin baylor has been let go, and mike dunleavy assumes the role of GM and headcoach for the Clippers.

I guess 22 years of bad draft picks was finally enough......
but elgin will still be a legendary player.

I think they already had dunleavy basically in charge of everything this offseason. Seems like he was behind all the free agent moves. I think they were saying that it was basically the plan to have dunleavy eventually take over when they hired him, probably figuring elgin would eventually want to retire.
I think the clips were just trying to kinda force him out by taking away any of his power but still keep him on with some bs job. elgin was insulted and decided to resign instead.
I just wonder what moves over the past 5 years have been elgin, and what have been dunleavy. Elgin won exec. of the year after the clips brought in cassell and mobley. And the draft picks of thornton, kaman, and hopefully gordon have been pretty good. I'm not too sure about the korolev draft, but that was a bad draft in general.

You are right. I read this as well in Sporting News. Didn't know about the part that Elgin was unhappy with his new role. He's 74 so he might as well retire anyways.

His greatest feat might have been the year he played only weekend games for the Lakers, because he was in the army. No practices, economy class flights to every game, and then dominate the competition....to the tune of 38 ppg, 19 rpg, and 5 assists. All weekend games, no practices.
Anyways, I paraphrased that stuff from this article.

Growing up as a Laker fan though, you'd always hear about Baylors accomplishments, especially in a less racially tolerant time. I hope he gets his just due at some point.
Great read.

that was a great read. yea no doubt elgin was a legendary player. Would definitely be hard to see his tenure with the clippers end so messily.
They are saying that he might be taking legal action against the clips. It's hard to see him getting anything out of it, as I don't even think he had a contract with them, and I'm sure it's not about money or anything. I would really like to see this end smoothly though.

so any important people going to be cut at the end of training camp?
I'd like to see darius miles make the celtics, but he's the only one without a guaranteed offer, and hasn't been performing. If he gets cut, it's almost worth it for to a team in the west w/ an open roster spot to get him to play in 10 games, and put a 10mil stall for like 2 years on the train that will be the portland trailblazers in the next couple years . I wouldn't mind seeing him in a clipper jersey again just for old times sake.
who's going to be traded during the season?
rumors around vince carter. Clippers could trade for mobley and thomas, but I think they're planning on keeping space for 2010.
If the lakers weren't playing for a championship, I think LO would be traded for draft picks. I don't think they'll keep him around once he becomes a FA, since they have to pay bynum. But as the lakers stand to make it deep into the playoffs, they'd probably want to hang on to him after the deadline.
