NBA: Oden will leave Ohio St. and enter NBA draft
Nifty...well, here's hoping those Knicks keep on losing. Gotta love the Eddy Curry trade...now, if NY can get a lottery pick, HELLO flipflop of picks with Da Bulls!

j/k hell no.
If Greg Oden comes out, he will undoubtedly by the #1 pick. This guy is a phenom, the talent this guy has is still raw, but far superior to any player in the college level. I know Durant is gifted as well, but you can not pass up a 7’1 feet center with this much ability.
durant i think will make it in the nba being an impact in his first season.
oden's game is not refined. its very rough. he will need a vvery good coach to teach him to finetune his stuff.

in the past, the idea was that you can never overlook a talented and skilled big man. five years ago, no team would have considered taking durant first.
but the nba has changed so much recently, and small ball's become the blueprint for the style of play and winning. i agree that it really depends on which team will have the first pick, and that team will have to base their decision on needs and personnel. i think they'll both be terrific players though.

Blah! Every single team in the league needs a primetime center. Only team that wouldn’t pick Oden 1st would be Houston (with Yao), though it would be cool if they did, it would be a flashback of Duncan/Robinson for the Spurs. I think Durant would be an impact player now, but long-term, Oden is a guy a team can build around.
I totally think Oden will come out. Who in their rightful mind can pass up 30million a year? I know the college experiences and maybe a nation championship is “priceless” but how can you walk away from that kind of $$$

oh how the nba would be so different if the celtics landed duncan instead of mercer and billups. would pitino still be coaching pro? would we have seen a new dynasty in boston? you know the nba front office would have loved to see more success in the major northeastern cities.

seriously... Boston needs to land Oden or Durant and then move some of the young guys who have stepped up in value for a good veteran or two... also they need to fire Rivers...
I would consider Pierce, Green, Jefferson, and as Rondo untouchable... Thing that sucks is that I really like some of the young guys, but i am sick of waiting...
and you know what's even more frustrating than waiting for the young'uns to finally grow is trading them away and then seeing them become perennial all-stars.
i remember watching portland in the late 90's and thinking jermaine o'neal is going to be a stud (no homo). he just never got any burn because of sheed, brian grant, and sabonis. then he gets traded for dale davis and boom! now the rest is history.
