can't blame on KB, if you are not right up in his face, you won't get elbow, those are accident, not intentional and it happen all the time in NBA whether you agree or not. KB plays clean, no dirty, so don't hate.

Bows were being thrown all game. Howard's all bows to the chest, and midsection of Pau, Bynum, etc.

Face it, its the finals. They finally let them play in the second half. Put it this way, if it had been Rondo that got 'bowed, Perk or Big Baby would have made sure Kobe felt it next time. Welcome to the finals Jameer....Alston should be playing anyways.

If you ever meet Kobe ask him if those elbows are "accidents". I'll bet the house that he bursts out laughing in your face. If he's more controlled he'll probably just smirk.

^^LOL.

Bows are thrown the whole game. The ones you see always depend on what team's glasses you're wearing.

To me the ones to the body aren't really a big deal unless they're really swinging it hard to intentionally injure someone but the ones to the face is taking it too far. As I previously mentioned, I'm not a fan of either team. I just call it like I see it.

Same here, and for the record, I wasn't directing my responses at you in particular.

Bows are bad, body or head, accidental or not. A bow to Jameer's head is a bow to Howard's midsection, and really, the offensive player is allowed a reasonable area of movement. It isn't Kobe's fault that Jameer ran at him, and that well, he's short.

I think you play within the limits of what they're giving you (and they weren't calling anything).

I'm also of the opinion that the Magic's biggest mistake was letting Nelson play in that fourth, to make those plays and those decisions. Jameer writhing around after the play was REALLY stupid, and yes, I've had my nose broken twice and have had a couple of black eyes from bows, that I've played through. IMO, Rafer would have been much more ready to make better decisions, in that instance and at the end of regulation (foul Fisher when he crossed half court). Jameer should have never been put in that position.

i love stan van gundy, i think his candidness is great when other coaches in all sports just sideskirt pretty much everything on every topic. wtf is he doing playing jameer though?? i feel like the lakes pulled this one out of their ass and thought the magic had the game the whole way. it's just blown oppurtunities showing the inexperience of the magic.

because that dude nelson too short thus that where his face got hit. imagine if you put kb, ariza, walton on howard, they would get face elbow too. use common sense people

Anyone notice the guy waiving the USSR & American flags behind the Laker bench? What was that all about?

Anyway, all Dwight Howard had to do was make one of two free throws and he blew it. I hate to say it... but it's over for Orlando... especially with Van Gundy at the helm.

Oh, and I do not think Pietrus. He's pretty important to Orlando and with them having their backs against the wall, I can't see the NBA sitting him now...

and i bet kobe will hug the championship trophy while he's crying and his dad is consoling him.

Agreed. And LOL at Kobe. What's the over/under at the NBA setting up a Shaq cam to film his reaction (or lack of)?

Do you even play basketball? If youre gonna play D that close, youre gonna get hit. Thats why players wear mouthpieces. I have been a recepient to a few of those elbows to the face in my league games. Thats the risk of playing D that close. People who think that thats an offensive foul is fukin retarded. Nelson straight ran into Kobe's elbow. Dont even compare it to Pietrus' dirty foul. He didnt even try to go for the ball. Go Tragic!<!-- / message -->

Honestly, I'd watch Shaq twitter page for reaction. His tweets are both funny and tragic at the same time.

Orlando deserved to lose. They had the game in hand, 5 point lead. Turnovers, missed free throws, and not fouling Fish were too much to overcome in the end. The Magic looked dejected going into overtime.

i've been playing ball whether it's pickup or organized since like 2nd grade.

yes some elbows are accidental and happens as a result of what you've mentioned: close D, accidental contact, etc. it happens.

but don't be so naive. competitive players, kobe included, will do what they can to gain an advantage, whether it's intentional or not and whether it's called or not.

what i'm trying to say is, there's a difference between accidental contact and deliberate elbows, which kobe has done. hell, even "good guys" like bruce bowen throw cheapshots.

but i'm not going to debate the nelson call because i really don't remember the replays. all i'm saying is, don't be so naive and think that all elbows thrown are accidental.

haha yea i thought that too.

the ONLY way that could be topped was if it was morrison vs. redick.

dahntay's push on kobe was with open hands. but that wasn't my point. despite the flagrant and practically a warning he got from the league, he decided to intentionall trip kobe during the next game. and that was followed by another flagrant and no suspension despite the previous flagrant.

so if jones wasn't even gonna be suspended for that, no way air france would and should. then again, the nba's all with flagrants and suspensions this postseason.

they shot themselves in the foot and deserved to lose.

i assume you're a long time bball fan so we've all seen much worse in the 80s and 90s. the rules now are for pansies.

and to add, I think the time to complain about calls has long past. if the magic make it back next year, they'll have learned a pretty valuable lesson, as the lakers did from the Celtics last year.

Victory favors the aggressor, not the ones complaining about rules or calls.

i agree that the elbow was intentional.. but hey thats smart basketball.. Kobe knew the Dub team was coming and made room for himself ahead of time.. LAKERS!!!

That's the first I've heard someone refer to Bowen as a "good guy". I think Van Gundy's being out-coached by Jackson. Did you notice Jackson went the "trash-time" squad and got some valuable production? What was up with Rafer? He should have got more time in the 2nd half.

That was crazy. When Bynum, Odom, and Gasol had 2 fouls each in the 2nd, they had Farmar, Sasha, Walton, Powell and Mbenga in at some point. Not sure if all were in together, but at least 4 of them were in together at one time with a starter.

The Lakers played all 12 players in that game. Phil nevers get enough credit for being a good coach since he's had Jordan/Pippen and Kobe/Shaq, but that 2nd quarter line-up turned out to be a great decision.

bowen does have a reputation as being a dirty player, but when i said "good guy," i meant off the court.
j/k. He played in Philly for a season on a team that wasn't that good. I liked his game then - he's become a better defender on and off the ball since then.

while yeah... the Lakers might lose tomorrow so they can wrap it up at home... I can see them taking care of business tomorrow.. especially with Kobe... He wants this sooooooooooooooo bad, probably doesn't care if it's at home or in Orlando. It's to make up for last year, and also to stuff it down Shaq's throat.

Kobe elbowed the shit out of Mike Bibby during a playoff game during the LA-SAC rivalry and the rets didn't call shit! I think that was the game that piece of shit Tim Donahe was officiating.
