The Yanks really need to dig into their farm system and stop worrying about the huge contract players as it's obviously done NOTHING for them the past few years. Let's show their wonderful pitching successes they've spent millions on in the past few years:
-Kevin Brown
-Carl Pavano
-Javier Vazquez
-Randy Johnson
-Esteban Loaiza
-Shawn Chacon
-Jaret Wright
None of which had an ERA under 4.00 over the course of their Yankee stay. They haven't had one good starting pitcher from the farm system in a damn long time. Last I recall is Pettitte in the better part of his career. They just don't seem to learn.

Hardly any pitchers will get past 90 pitches in the first month of the season. No need to pull a Hampton and blow out an elbow in the first week.

Thome just hit a nice game-changing HR yesterday for the ChiSox in their win over the A's...I'm not concerned.
Gauging player stats in the 1st two weeks of the baseball season is silly.
