Alex Rodriguez tries to insist that he wants to remain in New York. But an option in his contract allows him to become a free agent after this season, and in a radio interview Tuesday, he threatened to invoke the option if the fans did not embrace him.

a-rod needs to just shut and play. he has all the talent in the world so just try and let your talent and abilities win over the fans. he's not gonna be worshipped on jeter's level.

Jeter, who has slowed by right shoulder stiffness, is slated to resume throwing Saturday. He hasn't thrown or taken batting practice since Tuesday.

I don't see the Yankees letting him go even if he doesn't want to be there. There's no one out there that could be a comparable player. I don't see the Yankees letting all that $ go, & don't see many teams that are willing to eat the $ up.
Besides that aspect, if the Yankees let arod go that leaves a hole at 3rd. And who's going to fill in all year? Cairo?
