The problem is that you can't consistently compete. Oakland did well for a few years with shrewd scouting that gave them a good young crop of players. However, they lost all of those players and even their excellent farm system and scouting can't reload to contend year in and year out.
Is an easy fix...salary cap, salary floor, player max cap and more revenue sharing of local broadcast dollars. Both sides are too blind to see that both will be better off.

I just wanted to point out though that even though the Yankees spend the most money they do bring in the highest profit margin among other MLB teams. It make sense for them to keep bringing in better players because their revenue is always increasing and they want to keep it that way. Believe it or not Steinbrunner is making hundreds of millions off of the Yankees.

stupid Angels... ever since the clinch playoff spot, they've let go... they had a chance there to come in 1st and get home field advantage, now they'll probably face Boston in first round...

Or he was hoping Cleveland would beat the Red Sox in round 1.

Honestly we can't go into the postseason cold or else will be out as quick as we came.

Keep in mind the offense has been more than doing the job. We just need the bullpen to pick it up and we will be fine.

Yeah that's true, it was the exact opposite last year. Our pitching was excellent but our hitting was awful. Thats why we lost the NLCS.

Yeah I was refering to the Division lead, but that's true they could nab the Wild Card from SD, but I'm kind of hoping SD gets in the playoffs too. Personally I like all three teams, but since all three of them can't get in I'd like Colorado to get in and San Diego.

what now bitch??? fuckin hater!
Chicago will choke, as always??? Pot calling the kettle black?
That statement sounds really stupid coming from a Brewers fan. Further proof that you are an idiot. The Brewers have just five winning seasons since their last playoff appearance in 1982, and not a single winning season since 1992.
The Cubs, on the other hand have made it to the playoffs 3 times with 9 winning seasons during that same stretch.
The Brewers are the chokers in the Central...this year and every year.
At one point, the Poo Crew was leading all teams with a 24-10 record in May...14-games over .500 and 7.5 games ahead of the Cubs in the NL standings. Then, your squad fell apart (physically and mentally) and your idiot manager Ned Yost proceeded to manage your team to a stretch where they played 10-games under .500 leading to the final few weeks of the season.
And this year was as close as you will get to ending your league leading 25-year playoff drought because when we get ARod, it's over. Milwaukee will go back to their familiar spot in baseball anonymity and mediocrity.
Have fun watching the playoffs from home Brewers!....again!
And in the wise words of Yi Jianlian, "Milwaukee sucks!"
