Luckily I was able to implant a GPS tracker on him so I know where he is at all times.

I still want to see if Oswalt and Hamels can keep up what they did at the end of last season. Also curious to see how Lee does in a full regular season on one team. In the past two seasons he hasn't won over 14 games, and hasn't struck out 200 guys once in his career. His non-playoff numbers have been just good, not great.

Also, I know the Phillys now have what is arguably the best rotation in history, but they might have some trouble scoring runs next year. The offense is a bit different this year. Werth is gone, Utley can't stay healthy, Howard isn't giving the power he used to give, and Rollins is going downward fast.

They are still favorites to win the pennant, but it might not be as much of a runaway as some fans think...

Last I recall their offense was non-existent in the post season.

I can't recall the last big free agent who spurred a big $$$$ offer for "fit"...Maddux was the last one, I think?

$30M is nothing to laugh at. I mean, I'd slap Mother Teresa around for 1/10th of that.

BTW, don't you live in Jersey? You don't have a professional baseball team
we technically (though not officially) have two professional football teams though.

Couldn't have said it better. I can already see the stretch of 1-run wins and losses. Those wins being clutch hitting by the bottom of the order...

I would say you technically don't have any pro football teams. Maybe theoretically. You do have a basketball and hockey team though. People really care about those two sports.

A's signed Hideki Matsui to a 1 year deal.

I hope he can help the A's offense. One thing's for sure, there will be a lot more s at the ballpark.

The Cliff Lee contract difference with the option is actually $13mill according to Yankees' voice Michael Kay on the Dan Le Batard show last night.

I was pretty shocked when I heard Lee went back to Philly. I guess only time will tell if it's a good signing or not. That's a lot of money for an old man...never know what will happen

Wishing him luck though...seems like a nice guy.

He finished with 2,581 career strikeouts, led the American League in strikeouts seven times, pitched three no-hitters - including the only one on opening day - and recorded a jaw-dropping 12 one-hitters.
...
Stirred by Japan's bombing of Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, Feller enlisted in the Navy the following day - the first major league player to do so. He served as a gun captain on the USS Alabama, earning several battle commendations and medals.
...
When he returned from military duty in 1946, Feller arguably had his finest season, going 26-15 with a 2.18 ERA and pitching 36 complete games and 10 shutouts.
After 3+ years away

"My father kept me busy from dawn to dusk when I was a kid," Feller said. "When I wasn't pitching hay, hauling corn or running a tractor, I was heaving a baseball into his mitt behind the barn. I couldn't repay my debt to him, but I wanted to pass along the thought that if all the parents in the country followed his rule, juvenile delinquency would be cut in half in a year's time."
How true is this!

Would've been neato if the ChiSox could've inked Wood...but, he's an injury liability anyhow.

Kerry lives in Chicago, so he knows what a dump the Southside is...he turned down a 1-yr, $3.5 million offer from the White Sux.

Zack Greinke traded to the Brewers

Wow, unexpected. Great move for Milwaukee. They picked up Shaun Marcum a couple weeks ago too.
