What a way to christen the new stadium, congrats to the players they were obviously the better team this season. However, the fans and ownership can suck it, they will never get my respect!! HAHA!! As much as I'm not an A-rod fan, its good to see that he gets his first championship, now there is a little more justification for the size of his salary.

Who will be MVP? Utley? Or ????

Its a sad day, baseball season is over. See you next year!!

Fuck the Phillies too, it's easy to congratulate when you make it as far as they did. I hate them as well. Not nearly as much as i hate the Yankees and their fans though. Both are great teams and either deserved the to win the series, but that's not my point. The sign I saw, quoted above, is what pisses me off. Destiny? Shut up, you guys buy all the best players and win. That's business, not destiny.

I honestly don't even care about the Yankee payroll, it makes it that much sweeter when they don't win. It's the mentality. The self righteous (like you) attitude the fans have. The arrogance. The pity for other teams. The "hey we win every year, lets root for the lowly Mets this time" mindset. I hate it. We don't want your cheers or praise just because your team is out of it, like it was in 2006. This isn't a NY v. all other states competition.

Face it, people hate the Yankees, you're just going to have to accept that.

Congratuations to the new champions from our champions. The Yankees were definitely the better team. Matsui was a monster. We look forward to a potential rematch this time next year with different results!

Can't wait for spring training.

Now that the playoffs and Series are over the real baseball fans can get back to discussion without the annoying fair-weather fans

Yea, cuz talent and team chemistry has nothing to do with how a team plays

The whole thing about complaining about salaries and caps crack me up. Like the players on the other team aren't millionaires.

It's about the ability for small market teams and owners to obtain the same level of talent as the large market teams. The Pirates would never be able to outbid the Yankees for a player.

Look at Oakland in the early 2000's. They were pretty much at the bottom on the team salary list and did fairly well. Nevermind that Oakland's management and owners are complete morons and they lost those players to bigger salaries elsewhere...

Well, there's always next year.

I'm kinda glad the season's over, because there have been SOOO many bandwagon fans in Philly (and probably NY too). Overly dramatic bandwagon fans. It was really annoying. Wonder where they'll be when the Cactus and Grapefruit leagues begin? I doubt they even know what that is...

They're the first to rave about winning games 1 and 5, and the first to say "Let go Eagles" after game 6.

They have not won in NINE years. There are so many falsehoods in your statement & silliness in your logic it is painful to encounter. Grow up, get a clue.

The fact that people like you waste their time hating a team is that has virtually no relationship with their team beyond me

You hate the Yankees more than the Phillies, the team that has won the East and therefore kept the Mets from winning (had they been near that many wins) is just insane.

They are the Champs deal with it.

Thank you for the correct, classy sport fan response, had the series gone the other way, this is what I would have said (in other words)

The Phillies played their hearts out & I have to say Mr. Manuel is a class act in the way he responded to the interviews after the game.

Well played Philleis, hope we can meet again next year.

What you just said didn't respond in any way to what I said. How can there be falsehoods in a statement comprised entirely of my own opinion?

Just because you say things like "get a clue" doesn't mean you are right. Your responses are a joke.

The Yankees have no relationship with the Mets? Really?

I still hate them and their fans.

You will have a life full of unhappiness seeing as the Yankees are going nowhere but up & the Mets will continue to be a second rate team.

The relationship between the Yankees & Mets is limited to a few interleague games and in the event that there is a rift in the time space continuum & the Mets get to the WS, Frankly the way the Phillies played I don't see anyone else getting past them next year.

Enjoy your live as a angry Mets fan, I submit your time is better spent telling them about it.

BTW I find it amusing you whine about big market team $$$$ The Mets are IN a big market, is it the Yankees fault their management can't play in the big leagues?

Did I mention

THE YANKEES WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
