Sounds to me like they have blown a slew of games they should have won.
I think he means, even though they've blown that many games, they still made it to the WS. And they can overcome blown saves.

Half of those blown games are Lidge blown saves.

2 walks in the inning, obviously the real Burnett has returned. God I hope they pull him before he gives up 6 runs.

Yea, the season isn't over yet!!

Come on Yankee fans, you know you'd rather win it at home.

If I had emotions invested into that game my heart probably would have exploded.

Oh... I forgot to add. As much as I hate the Yanks b/c of the way they buy championships, I give a lot of props for the way they play. They play hard and are so clutch, at no point did I believe that game W until it was over.

But with that said... Chase u guys again. SEE YA IN THE BRONX!!!

Tie keeps the game alive, gets us into the 10th,11th etc allows chance for win.

I have friends that did not want to win tonight, want it at home. I say fu*k that win it asap get it over.

Andy will have the ball, I hope he is on.

I give Utley great respect although I hate him, maybe we can BUY him. (that was for you haters that keep saying we buy championships)

I love this type of statement because it perfectly illustrates the irrationality of anti Yankee mentality.

It is (for me) as if I said:

"I am not a fan of soccer but I hate Manchester United, go anyone else"

This is another interesting phenomenon, leaving New York the statements were "we split and took away their home field advantage, on to Philadelphia and the series win!!!!"

Now fans (and at least you are a real Philly fan) are saying hooray back to the Bronx.

Only time will tell but history is on the Yankees side.

May the best team win.

(By that I mean please no bad officiating)

Petite hasn't pitched on 3 days rest since 2006, when he was 34 and an Astro. His record on three days rest is 4-6 with a 4.15 era.

That said, I don't think Pedro has enough to keep the Yankee lineup quiet again.

Both pitchers will probably be on a tight leash. This should be a battle of the bullpens. Philly has the momentum and I think they will pull off another win tonight. Tough call though.

Will someone slap Ryan Howard in the face and tell him this is the World Series? He should be launching HRs out of both of these stadiums.

I too am perplexed by Ryan's struggles at the plate. He was the MVP in the NLCS and has suddenly gone cold. I sure hope he wakes up tomorrow night. We really could use his bat. GO PHILLIES!

Ironic how Utley tied for the most homeruns in a world series and next at bat, Howard tied for the most strikeouts in a world series. I want a game 7!!

Yanks mounted a rally late in the game that made it interesting. Clutch hitting as usually, too bad AJ reverted back to his usual playoff mediocrity.

Pettitte will have go come through but he's clutch in the postseason and I know he has one more win in him

You do or at least try to every year.

I don't see Utley as being a money grubbing bastard that would sell out the Phillies to wear the pinstripes, but stranger things have happened.

At least one more game of baseball, but no more than two.

Damon is the biggest traitor of them all. To win the Series with Boston than sign with the Yankees the following year, talk about no team loyalty. Yea he was a free agent, but the way he went about it was wrong. But when you have Scott Boras as your agent things like this happen.

It's got to be so tough to resist all that the yankees can offer you, even after already making large salaries.

No doubt.

That's why they have the lineup that they do and that's why I, a Yankee hater as e30 puts it, laugh when they don't win the World Series or make it to the Postseason. With that kind of payroll there should be no reason why they shouldn't be playing the way they are this year every year.

The money combined with the baseball history of the Yankees makes for a pretty good negotiating tool when trying to acquire a player, especially the money.

Mom of Yankees' Chamberlain faces prison for drugs
Nov. 3, 2009
CBSSports.com wire reports

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The mother of New York Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain faces up to 20 years in prison on a felony drug-sale charge.

The Lincoln Journal Star reported Tuesday that Jackie Standley pleaded no contest Monday to delivery of a controlled substance in Lincoln, Neb.

Sentencing is set for Dec. 16, pending a recommendation from a drug and alcohol treatment center.

Lincoln police say the 44-year-old Standley was arrested in May after selling a gram of methamphetamine to an undercover officer at her Lincoln apartment.

Don't say I never gave you anything.

I hope that's not directed towards me, but if it is.

Why would I want someone to go to jail? That sucks. Having worked in the prison system I wouldn't wish that upon anyone. For you to think that I (or anybody else) would use this as fuel to get a rise out of a Yankee fan (especially you) is pretty idiotic , but I wouldn't expect less from you.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. I have no problems with the "actually" Yankees such as A-rod, Jeter, etc. because they're great players and as a baseball fan I even respect the history of the team (last year I even flew all the way across the country to N.Y. to watch a Yankee/Red Sox game). However, it is (look no contraction e30) the fans and the owners that I can't stand. Between trying to buy championships and fans' sense of entitlement is what makes me a Yankee hater.

Note to all Yankee fans, please get over the fact that people hate your team, that's sports, deal with it.
