you can take the Russians out of Russia but you can't take the Russia out of the Russians: let's just pass this puck 57 times on the PP with 23 seconds left in the period.

Sorry dom, you lost your rooting rights. You can't come back now. If Canada wins gold and you feel happy or do any kind of celebration, you are the biggest bandwagon jumper since 97BlackAck.

Ovechkin has a very, very bad tendency to fade in big games. Worrisome.

We're going to lose to the Swedes

Not that it really bothered me but anyone else kind of dissapointed in that 3rd period? Holy anticlimatic.

And Canada vs the US in the womens final tomorrow!! Should be a good one.

He didn't have a lot to keep him going in this one, the team just folded. And so earlier.

Should be, both teams combined scored like 100 goals against less than 10.

As least you knew Malkin, Semin, Kovachuk were playing. Where in the hell was Datsyuk?

That call on Semin at the end was terrible.

I somewhat agree, but I think he should have attempted to take the game over for the Russians.

Maybe he had to defer to the coach's crappy game plan, which apparently involved a lot of passing and cycling in their own end. Usually Alex has a big hit or two in the first period to establish tone, but he barely tried to play that kind of game.

You mentioned Crosby - he had some plays. He too tends to disappear a little in big games.

Maybe the coach is the Glen Hanlon of Russia

Milbury hit the nail on the head - wtf was that playing style? sorry, this isn't the early 90s.

Yup.

The big guns didn't do much. You only knew they were there because the announcers kept talking about them.

Well, if Crosby disappears and you're forced to rely on Toews, you're in pretty good shape.

Anyone see the handshake? They were focused on Crosby and Ovie. Ovie gave Crosby a pad in the stomach after the handshake. Good sportsmanship and a classy thing to do considering the rivarly and the stage. Maybe he's not such a douche afterall.

I just saw an interview with Ovie on CNBC and that was the most dejected I've ever seen him. He *really* cared about this, which is why I was surprised he didn't try to stir things up a bit in this game.

In last year's playoff game 7 when the Pens blew out the Caps, he was still flying around the ice playing physical and trying score even when the game was well out of reach.

Loved it, funny coming from the fool that had Russia all the way to the gold

Great game played by Team Canada...Having Toews with Richards and Nash was pure genius.

And Keith and Doughty as the top defensive pairing is terrific, too.

Let's see if Canada can sustain this level of play in the next game.

What must not be lost is that Toews, who has the main role as a checking line center, is tied as the team's leading point getter...and also leading everyone with a +11.

That and the fact that no one (not even the haters) can say he's ever taken a play off. His all-around abilities is really something...

Toews = Canada's MVP...
