But there could be worse things than playing with Mario.
IMO it was fixed. Pittsburgh financially speaking is in the worse shape in the leaugue. Noone needed him more. FIXED.

Then why did they get the #2 in the Ovechkin draft?

Oh, somehow I think he'll drag his out of shape ass to the rink for the chance to play with this kid.

Sheesh...Pittsburgh’s situation eerily reminds me of the time when Mario was selected #1 overall. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the penguins were in serious financial troubles back then and Mario came around to save the day. Now it’s Crosby’s turn. But this time, Crosby has one heck of a teacher to learn from in gold ol’ #66

Jagr is the redheaded step-child we don't talk about him anymore.. He can stay in DC ..

It was fixed, first the Pens really need him get people back to the seat. Secondly the Pens are in the same division with all 3 NY-based teams, so the Pens will face those teams the total of 24 times in the regular season and people WILL get to know him.
Not a bad plan NHL.

The sizzle in the Steak
It was rigged!!!!
Crosby to the Pens?!?!?!
Maybe they will trade him.
One way or another he was gonna end up in the East.

Interesting. Interesting.
Well, congrats to the Pens. Let's hope he is "The Next One" and not another Lindros. To think Philadelphia gave up Peter Forsberg for that guy
The rest of the off-season until October should be

The Pens got lucky with their financial situation.. I think we have around 8 players signed for next year and that's it.. And a new owner and hopefully a larger pocketbook.. We can sign a ton of players..

Mark Recchi $2.28 million
Ric Jackman $760,000
Sebastien Caron $646,000
Rico Fata $551,000
Lasse Pirjeta $456,000
Ryan VandenBussche $450,000
Tomas Surovy $450,000
7 Players $5,593,000
Add a few key veterans for those blue chippers to learn from and you would have a dominant team for the next 10 years.

It's kind of like insider trading.. Like Mario knew something... It will be crazy to see what happens.. Many players want to come to play with Mario and the team.. The cap I think will be the problem before the amount of players that want to come here runs out..
They sucked for 5+ years and have a stacked farm team also...

Lindros was "dominant" for 2 maybe 3 seasons. He only broke 100 pts once and only broke the 70-game mark twice in his Philly career.
He was a very good player for Philly....most of the time. Not only was he injury prone, he was a head case. He thought he was the second coming of Christ when he entered the league. Philly gave up WAY too much for him.

Speaking of Philly, LeClair and Amonte are gone:
Flyers buy out LeClair and Amonte
Associated Press
7/23/2005 11:40:32 AM
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia Flyers are buying out the contracts of forwards John LeClair and Tony Amonte.
The buyouts will be announced at a news conference scheduled for Saturday morning, team spokesman Zach Hill said.
The 36-year-old LeClair spent 10 years with the Flyers, and was a member of the famed "Legion of Doom'' line with Eric Lindros and Mikael Renberg in the mid-1990s. He tallied 382 goals and 379 assists overall in the regular season in his career with the Flyers and the Montreal Canadiens; he had 42 goals and 47 assists in the playoffs.
LeClair, who entered the lockout due $9 million US this season, was to make $6.84 million after the leaguewide 24 per cent pay cut.
Amonte, who started the lockout at about $5.61 million, was due $4.26 million. In 14 seasons with New York, Chicago, Phoenix and Philadelphia, Amonte tallied 392 goals and 436 assists in the regular season; he had 20 goals and 31 assists in 86 playoff games.
The buyouts will give the Flyers room to make qualifying offers to restricted free agents and begin negotiations with unsigned rookies.
