Besides, the Leafs have a plethora of talent at forward. He'd have a hard time finding ice time amongst all that talent and experience.
Interesting. Interesting.

^ Theo didn't play for the Leaves...You should use Jason Allison (although, he had no grit) in your example instead.

LOMBARDI: LOS ANGELES KINGS HAVE INTEREST IN GRETZKY
http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=293078
Perhaps he can stand in place of his statue in front of Staples.....or he can be the Kings mascot...running around throwing t-shirts at the fans and such......other than that, don't want him back...especially in the coaching dept.
If Wayne Gretzky wants to return to the National Hockey League in some capacity, count the Los Angeles Kings as one of the teams interested in The Great One.
Kings president and general manager Dean Lombardi expressed his interest in Gretzky in an interview with the Fan 590 radio station in Toronto.
Lombardi, who said he spoke briefly to Gretzky, didn't specify the role that he had in mind for the NHL's career-leading scorer.
"I'd like to bring (Gretzky) back in some capacity now that he's done there," Lombardi told the Fan 590. "I think when you talk about kids learning to win, I think it would be great if we could bring him back to where he almost brought this place to the promised land."
Gretzky resigned from his post as the head coach of the Phoenix Coyotes last week, after being absent from the club during training camp, while the fate of the club sits in bankruptcy court.
Gretzky, who joined the Coyotes as a managing partner in 2000, was named head coach of the Coyotes in August of 2005 and signed a five-year contract to continue to serve as part owner, managing partner, alternate governor and head coach the following year.
The Coyotes never made the playoffs during their four seasons with Gretzky behind the bench. From 2005-06 to 2008-09, he had a 143-161-24 record for a .473 winning percentage.

So, anyone ever play in a pool where the salary cap is in play? There is no head-to-head matchup and the only thing that counts are goals & assists for the 12 forwards and 6 D you must pick and wins & shutouts by the two netminders.
With salary cap being such a factor, would you guys typically draft a $$$$ player like an Ovie or Malkin or just try to play it cheap and go after entry-level contract players like a Toews, Oshie, Kane, Stamkos, and etc. who can yield close to a point-per-game but not the same high ratio as the super-elite type?

do you order it alone?
i have the "sports package" and it includes NFL Sunday ticket, NHL Center Ice, NBA league pass, MLB extra innings, Nascar, NCAA, and some more crap. I wanted just the NFL ticket & the NBA, but you can't order just 1 or even 2 leagues. they make you buy them all

I don't want the NBA anywhere near my TV. I hate all the hoopla and showboating. If there's one thing I can't stand in sports, it's showboating.

And of course, Ovechkin does not showboat...but, that darned Crosby sure does, hey?

BTW - Mats Sundin officially retired this morning. Could have sworn he retired a couple of years ago but I digress.

If Philly gets good tending from Emery, they are dangerous. Their defence should rock and they have great offensive talent. Their 2nd line should be as good as many team's first lines.
