Golf: Tiger Woods Saga **Divorce Settlement Reached (page 8)**

Now that Tiger Woods has admitted to “transgressions,” many wonder what is next for his marriage. Many sources are saying that for now, wife Elin Nordegren, who is often a fixture on the 18th green at golf tournaments, is standing by her man.
“She and Tiger have had problems in the past, this is obviously as bad as it’s ever been, but she’s not leaving as of now,” said one person with knowledge of the couple’s marriage over the years.
A report in the Chicago Sun Times claims that “intense marriage counseling” is taking place, but Elin’s motivation might also be linked to her personal bank account.
“The links legend's spouse is reportedly being paid a hefty seven-figure amount — immediately transferred into an account she alone controls — to stick with her husband,” Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker reported. He goes on to write that Elin demanded and is getting a total rewrite of the couple’s prenuptial agreement. The couple wed in 2004 and have two children.
Reportedly, the couple had an agreement that stipulated they must remain married for 10 years in order for Elin to collect a settlement of $20 million, and that is the part of the settlement being negotiated.
While it would seem obvious for Woods to have a prenup, no one close to Woods has confirmed that the agreement exists.
One veteran reporter remarked, “Everyone keeps saying ‘oh yeah, he’s got to have the (ironclad) prenup,’ and I think the media is all like, ‘he went to Stanford, he can’t be that dumb.’ But maybe he does and maybe he doesn’t.”

She will stay with Tiger.....she won't give up the lifestyle.

I am surprised the existing agreement would have only given her $20 million after 10 years. During that period his earnings would have exceeded $1 billion and his net worth would be even greater.

What Would Don Draper Do?
anyways, they're both obviously very well known athletes. real difference is that tiger is the dominant figure and face of his sport.
surprised me too.

I agree with you there brother. Having a hot wife is really really nice but when that hot wife has two kids then maybe things change in the household and Tiger finds himself in the position where he has to find more cats to play with

guys like tiger just live in a different world than us.
he's got a hot wife, but maybe she's not as hot after living with and seeing her every day for the last 5 years. and when even hotter girls (girls that we're probably scared to even talk to) throw themselves at him every day,

i laugh when i see tiger with supermodels. beckham would get women regardless of his profession and you could make the argument that he is better looking than his wife is...if you want to go there. tiger is really not a good looking guy at all. he's got bug eyes and really big lips. i think the kids are going to turn out pretty funky looking. i hope i didn't just offend half this board with this post but that's what i think when i see his fugly mug.

From TSN...
A lawyer for a New York woman who has denied having an affair with Tiger Woods has cancelled a news conference that had been scheduled for Thursday in Los Angeles.
Lawyer Gloria Allred's office says in a statement that the news conference has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. The statement does not elaborate on the circumstances.
Allred earlier had planned to make a statement about Rachel Uchitel's relationship with Woods.
Last week, the National Enquirer published a story alleging the world's No. 1 golfer had been seeing Uchitel, a New York nightclub hostess, and that they recently were together in Melbourne, where Woods competed in the Australian Masters.
Uchitel denied having an affair with Woods when contacted by The Associated Press.

Too be honest, I still think he was drunk or on something when he crashed but they aren't pursuing charges. Maybe he just lost control, but it seems hard to crash like that in your own driveway.
Maybe he was out at a club or with some skank, came home drunk and smelling of said skank, she flipped out and whacked the car with the golf club a few times, then he left in a hurry and crashed
There...my expert opinion

Not that it matters to me, but the whole thing just seems odd

My wife showed me that US Weekly article, but I am not sure it's accurate.
In 2004, when they were married, he was worth less than $300 million. So it couldn't be a lump sum. And if it's a percentage of his net worth today, it's still about 40% of his net worth. Which seems like a ridiculous amount. He might as well not even have a pre-nup.
In most cases a pre-nup would have a payout schedule or a small percentage of his net worth at the end of the marriage. If Tiger really signed a pre-nup that will give her $300 million today after 5 years of marriage, he is a fool.

Yeah, I don't get why he doesn't just cut his losses now and become single. It wouldn't be hard for him to eventually find another trophy wife, so I guess he wants to keep her around so he doesn't have to share the kids.
I mean, if she's wanting the pre-nup reworked for more money, she's either confident that he'll cheat on her again and will divorce him then, or is planning on divorcing him anyways in a few years when she'll get a lot more money.

I think he's still trying to look out for the best interest of his image. Of course this didn't turn out the way he expected it to, but how would he look now if he filed for divorce? Basically that would cement him as the reason why their family is breaking apart, with absolutely no doubt in the public's eye.
If she filed for divorce on the other hand, it would be because they could not sort out their differences and work through this ordeal. At the moment, he's clearly not faithful, and probably not very smart for thinking he would get away with this. But if he solely tore his family apart, then he'd also be a douchebag.
at least that's how I see it

trying to "reconcile" things with the wife and stay a "family man" will help his image and brand.

ESPN Sportscenter reported that a woman was taken to the hospital while on "advanced life support" and she was escorted by a blonde woman in a black Escalade. What make you of these "transgressions"?
I say one of Tiger's nine(ty) mistresses came over looking for him, Elin saw, and Elin beat a chick's ass. Tiger called the police and held Elin at bay for the moment, then when the ambulance came and took the mistress away, Elin followed to finish the job.
