Watching the news, a helicopter overview .. where the road starts to curve, it looks
like Tiger's SUV went straight, jumped the divider and kept right on going until "encountering"
a rock face. Accident was responded to at 7:12 am ... asleep at the wheel? Drunk?

Given the extent of his injures (shattered ankle and both legs broken), I think Tiger Woods may have golfed his last game...

His impact to the game of golf can't be understated. His fall from grace back in 2010 (was it that long ago??) and then return is quite the story too.

Just hope he recovers so that he can enjoy life and be there for his children and etc.

Also, need to know how this happened. The crash is insanity...he's lucky AF just to be alive.

Not likely based on reports I saw.

Supposedly he had a 7:30 event at Riviera (where the tour is this was last week). That is approx 1 hour from his hotel. Prior to departure rumors were reported that he was delayed leaving due to being blocked in.

So (if true) he's running late, blocked in .... presumably gets more agitated because he's late .... zooms out of the hotel and crashes a mile or two down the road.

I, for one... back in my younger years... when I got annoyed or pissed... and running late... I drove like a freakin' maniac, so I can see that

Yeah, I can say I am guilty of the above as well.

As controlling of things and a perfectionist that he has had to be to get to where he is I can see that being a trait of his even to this day for better or for worse.

Hopefully, he can come out of this and have a good quality day-to-day life and play golf for fun at times still even if he can never play professionally again. I never watched professional golf more than when he was at his prime doing insane things he did. Always wanted to see him have an even bigger comeback but at this point just be able to enjoy life for him is most important.

Could be ... from the helicopter coverage at the time what it looked like to me was:
1) the vehicle left the road where it goes from straight to a gentle curve
2) there were no skid marks anywhere, the SUV just kept on straight ahead
3) vehicle (apparently) barrelled along till it smacked an embankment

Seems to imply no active driving going on,no attempt at avoidance or stopping for whatever reason .. but
Maybe we'll find out, probably not ..

I guess they're saying he was on this way to meet Drew Brees and David Spade for some kind of event (at a golf course).

Well, before I guessed 'drunk at 7AM', I'd probably guess 'distracted driving'. For instance, maybe he was trying to text that he was on his way, hit the median, then lost control across the median.

Another alternative to being drunk at 7AM (which is what you suggested) would be impairment from prescription medication. IIRC, he'd recently had another back surgery and was in recovery.

I'm have no interest in making a case for Woods one way or the other. I'm just saying that for anyone, including Woods, being drunk at 7AM probably isn't the most likely explanation.

Fair enough, "impaired for some reason" is good. I also suggested perhaps he dozed off but again

We may never know. From what I've read/seen there will be no charges, no real investigation, etc. I'm assuming that it partly because no one else was involved and partly because celebrity.

Seriously.. what the fuck is with mullets being back in fashion. So fucking nasty.

On another note, all I have been hearing about golf lately is people bitching about players leaving the PGA to join the LIV. If YOU were given a guaranteed amount of money, way more than you could make on the PGA, wouldn't YOU join too? These so-called sports journalists and show hosts are fucking incompetent. Yet, they would make the same decision if that was them. I heard some PGA guy made more in one month on the LIV than he made in 3 years on the PGA... what the fuck is everyone arguing about... $$$ can buy anything or anyone.

And to add to that. More family time. I think the thing some golfers against it are just wanting the guys to come out and say "I did it for the money" instead of insisting they did it for "more family time"... Hell I would do it for the money. Retire early and live a happy life with my family. This morning I heard the last place finisher of a tournament, for LIV, made $400,000.00. For instance the British Open, $469,000 was tied for 6th place. Last place was paid out $31,075. On top of it, the signing bonuses are huge as well.

The PGA will need to reconsider some things to improve their league otherwise more big names will be leaving. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Is it just me or has Tiger either missed the cut or withdrawn due to injury from 100% of the events he has participated in over the past 5 years?

He needs to retire.
