If Dungy's story is true and I believe it is, then they definently deserved it.

Joe Buck was, is, and will continue to be one of the biggest morons in sports. He definitely overreacted.

While I think Randy Moss was an idiot for doing it, considering that he didn't actually expose himself, there really isn't anything that they could penalize him for except being an idiot. I think they are blowing this way out of proportion.

From Tony Dungy
"Randy has had about six or seven years of those guys mooning him as he's left after a loss and I think that was his way of saying, 'OK, appreciate the fun, you guys had your fun, here's a little shout back at you.' That's what that was all about."

Asked about it after the game, Moss said he was "just having a little fun with the boys. I hope I don't get in trouble by it, but if I do I'll take the heat."

Does that mean that someone with a rep power of 250 would have to give me $250 if they wanted to give me rep? Paypal works for me too

Hmm...sounds like a losing proposition. I think if rep points were work $1, people would stop giving them out.

I didn't even know mooning the opposing team was a tradition at GB... Now I have mixed feelings about Moss's "celebration"

It's disrespectful as hell, if you were in the grandstands as a GB supporter, what would you do? I'm surprised they didn't start pelting him w/ stuff, which of course, would've been wrong too.

Moss is an ass.

But that was funny as hell given the history of the GB fans mooning the visting teams bus. "Right back at ya cheeseheads."

The NFL officials are a bunch of buffoons if they fine him. I'm sure they say it was somehow indecent and unsportsmanlike and any other BS excuse they use to justify a fine. I'd like to quote Michael Wilbon who sums it up well,

"If the NFC had sanctioned Moss's act and slapped a logo on it or marketed it, things would have been fine. But it didn't, so Moss's behavior will draw a fine and he'll be the sports world's Public Enemy No. 1 at least until Saturday, when the playoffs resume. Tell me, exactly, how a man completely clothed and pantomiming a mooning is more offensive than erectile dysfunction ads coming into your living room about 10 times a game during NFL telecasts?"

If I were a GB fan and had taken part in or even known about the mooning of the losers team bus as they leave lambeau, I would've though it was funny. I would be like "alright, we deserve that, but we'll get you next time"

The thing that really suprised me was that he didn't even get flagged for it. I would have expected at least that much.

yes there is! this is a game. they get plyed to play. not to show off and look like idiots. if they want to act like that do it off the field not on it. TO is a stunning example of the crap that needs to stop! the nfl is becoming a joke with all the crap.

They get paid to entertain, not to play. If they weren't entertaining enough, then they would not get paid (see the NHL).

Seeing how GB fans act when the visiting team loses at Lambeau, Randy Moss' celebration was playful at worst, and nowhere near showboating or disrespectful. And IMHO, playful and fun celebrations have their place in the game of football.

^^^^^^^^^^^ doesn't matter where he's from, I'm not from Wisconsin and showboating still blowz. In the 60's, 70's and most of the 80's, this did not occur. No dancing, no fake phone calls, no spinning/spiking/throwing the ball, none of that bullshit. It's a game they get paid to do pure and simple. You never saw Mean Joe Greene, Tarkenton, Unitas, Butkus or any of those guys behave like these asshats do now. I hate showboating w/ a passion, my team or not.

I agree somewhat, but we do have to remember that these are real people playing the sport and they all have personalities. in the 80's we had John McEnroe and I was more entertained by the Moss moon then the Icky and Superbowl shuffle...If we think it's just faceless people, we might as well put robots in there to play.

Eh. Moss is tool.
GB fans are pretty well-behaved for the most part...If he pulled that stunt in Philly, Oakland, or Cleveland he may not have an @$$ to sit on no more...

You sound like some football purist or something. What you fail too understand is that football as well as the pro athlete are completly different from the 70's and 80's. The media hype was no where near what it is today. Today's athlete knows that buy doing something different he will get round the clock media coverage. Most of the time, these guys are just trying too come up with clever ways to market themselves. So stop with all the crying about celebrations because they are not going anywhere.

Why do players have to respect the fans if the fans don't respect the players? Moss' move was a direct response to Packer fans' tradition of mooning the visiting team's bus after a Packer win. It wasn't like Moss actually mooned anyone. Moss' move is similar to the throat slash Favre used to do.

Why NFL kickers should shut the f**k up

Mike Vanderjagt:

"I think they're not as good as at the beginning of the year, not as good as last year," said Vanderjagt when asked about the Patriots pedigree on Sunday evening. "And I think they are beatable. We have to play well. There's no question about that. But I think we're going to come back [to Indianapolis] Sunday night, headed to the AFC title game. I think they're ripe for the picking."

Did you hear Tedy Bruschi's response? Something along the lines of "why are you asking me questions about what a kicker had to say?"
