Can I request a few more pics, because I'm very interested in purchasing a set for my 03tl-s. Can you also give me a short list, of cars that are out on the road that have this hint of purple, thanks.

I don't have any other pics of the 6500K kit. I will have a few pics next week of the 6500K HID upgrade bulbs on some vehicles.

To anyone who has purchased a kit or even the D2C bulb from me: Please post up a picture of the bulbs lit up and please include the following:

Year and Model
Kit or D2C Bulb
Kelvin Rating

I would appreciate it. Thanks It will help other members see the difference in colors and the high quality of the KAIXEN product.

Any chance you can get the High/low H4D bulbs for a HID kit? I believe Kaixen just released them and retail is around $400 or so.

I can get the H4D bulbs. KAIXEN doesn't have a retail site with prices. That site is one of their distributor's sites. But I can do $375 shipped on those kits.

The ballast and igniter are all one unit and the unit is about 5" X 3". Yes water can get on the unit. Rain that creeps through the hood will not affect it but I doubt it is waterproof in the sense that you could submerge it in water and still have it work. I have a vented hood and water gets on my ballasts and they always work fine but I wouldn't subject them to a bucket of water.

You do not need a HID kit for the 00 Acura TL. You can just get replacement bulbs. They are $150 shipped. You will lose some lumen (light output) with the 8500K bulbs but they are extreme blue. The loss of light isn't huge but you might be able to notice it.

Well the stock HID's are technically the brightest. However, the 6000k bulb is an extreme white bulb. To the naked eye, the 6000k is brigther b/c of its crystal white color.

Just a question (and not to cause annoyance but simply because my TL-S which is on its way will be going through these light mods for certain, so I'd rather know now..) but with what I've seen isn't the following true:
4300k- stock HID
6000k- superwhite-ish
6500k- little blueish but still mainly white
8500k- very blueish, less white
and THEN once you get up into the 10,000k and higher range is when the purple hues start to show...
I was just curious because it's shown that the 6500k bulbs are the purple ones, but I was questioning that?
Like I said, last thing I want to do is doubt a solid vendor, but I figured I'd try and get my own info cleared up

Yes they are a direct replacement for your OEM bulbs. No modification necessary.

MB, I'm here to answer questions. That's my job.

I have seen other sites claiming different colors based on different kelvin but generally the scale/color goes as stated below:

4300K - White - OEM
6000K - Crystal White w/ slight hint of blue
6500K - Crystal White w/ hint of violet
8500K - Extreme Blue

I would never go beyond 8500K b/c you will lose to many lumens (light output). Now I can only answer specifically for KAIXEN as I am familiar with this product but I can't say what other sites sell and what Kelvin they use. I can tell you that those you went with the 65000K kit have been happy with the color although they haven't sent me any pics.

I just read the entire thread. I asked about the 65000K bulbs, not the 6500K which I'm assuming is a typo on the first page of this thread. Anyways, Excelerate, I'm interested in replacing my stock low beams with the Kaixen upgrade bulbs and I'm also interested in replacing the stock fog lights, however, I think the stock fogs on the 04+ TL are not HIDs, meaning that I cannot just replace the bulb with the Kaixen HID upgrade bulb?? Also how much is shipping to Los Angeles, CA 90012. Thanks in advance.

You can buy a HID kit for the fog lights. I believe it is a 9006 kit. I have a bunch of these coming in stock. They are plug and play.

You do not need a kit for the low beams. I wasn't sure if you needed a kit for the fog lights or the high beams, which are halogens. I am PMing you now.
