Why is A1 service so expensive in Los Angeles Area?
hello everybody!!
I have a 2013 Acura TSX and this will be my first service to the dealership..
I do have few questions about your experiences but before I do that, why do i get quote for A1 service from 130-140?? Is it not just an oil change, oil filter, and tire rotation and other check ups?
I have been quoted from Center Acura and Glendale Acura and if any of you did get A1 from Los Angeles Area and got them near lower 100s or even better, can you tell me where???
Is changing oil, filter, and rotation just as good since the car is new?
Please Help Guys... I am at 15% oil change...

$130-$140?
$65 at Cerritos Acura (no mention of tire rotation though) --> http://www.cerritosacura.com/special...did=9499156518
Tire rotation, if you need one and can't or don't want to do it yourself, is like $10 at Discount Tire. There's one on the corner of Los Feliz and Glendale Ave.
Try to get Glendale Acura to price match Cerritos.
Personally, I'd do it myself. You can pick up a 5 qt jug of synthetic oil (Pennzoil Platinum, Mobil 1, Quaker State Ultimate Durability, etc) at Walmart for about $25 and a OEM or Purolator PureONE filter for like $5-$6.
And if you don't mind doing rebates, there's a $20 Quaker State rebate for Ultimate Durability --> http://www.quakerstatewarranty.com/terms/rebate/
which would make that 5 qt jug of Ultimate Durability about $5. (I stocked up on three 5 qt jugs a while back and the rebate came fast.)
Or pay an independent mechanic $10 to do it for you. That's what I do when I'm in a rush or too lazy.
The checks are pretty much worthless IMO.

wash (pass)Yes! I was looking at Sierra for this one but this is the necessary service for me right that is included in the A1 Service? and I will do the tire rotation somewhere else that I did them for cheap when I had Nissan Murano..
All you really need is an oil and oil filter change (A service) and tire rotation (1 service).
If you want to do the free multi point inspection too, then there's no harm as long as you decline any service recommendations they make.
It's free so they can try to get you to pay for additional services that you may not need to have done or will overpay such as changing the engine and/or cabin filter (which are super easy to do), fuel injector flush/cleaning, throttle body cleaning, etc.
