My car was updated to 1.6.2 today.

I wonder what the changelog is.

 

Stumbled upon this: https://owners.acura.com/Documentum/ota/2021_TLX.pdf - I guess Acura updates this document each time there's an OTA update? Pg. 2 shows the updates made with 1.6.2, but also the previous 1.5.1 and 1.4.3 updates too on the pages after that.

It looks like the new update fixes some random Apple CarPlay glitches. I need to update this soon.

Edit: Specifically the error message that forced it to close and the ridiculous amount of time it took to boot up CarPlay on start up.

 

My CarPlay still glitches after the update! Especially, Waze

My Apple Carplay, is getting worse every day
Waze keeps telling me there's no internet connection; (there is one)
Apple Maps, & Google, aren't much better
Seems to be a handshake problem, between my IPhone 12, & CarPlay
Apple, & Acura are clueless; I've changed cords, & updated the software; useless
Between that, & the wireless charger, not working since last year, someone should step up
and fix the software isssues
C'mon, it's a $45,000 car with less than 10,000 miles on it
Reality is; the Acura Navigation system is my best resource

Anyone know if Acura rolls out the updates to specific VIN numbers? Currently on D.1.5.1 and tried updating OTA and via USB and received the message "The vehicle is up-to-date. No software updates are available at this time" both ways.

 

I keep seeing everyone getting updates but I tried OTA and the USB method and says I have the latest update. Could it be because I'm in Canada? Or are they slowing rolling out to owners?

 

I’m in the USA and got the update when I checked yesterday. Apple CarPlay loads to much quicker but as for its stability we shall see as it’s only been a short period of time. It used to become unresponsive and even at times not boot up until I turned off my car and/or phone.

 

I haven’t had issues with CarPlay unlike most people I hear or read from. I just have this obsession with keeping everything up to date. Like the map updates I always update to the latest one even though I haven’t used it once. Just kinda feel left out that I can’t update mine yet 🤣

 

Mine is still showing that my software is up to date and I’m on the 1.5 version still. Is there a way to manually update it with a USB drive? I’m hoping it might (even though it doesn’t say it) fix my backup camera at night. As well as maybe helping with car play a bit.

 

There is but if your OTA says you have the latest version, the USB method will give you the same result. Tried that myself today too

Well, CarPlay glitched on me again and force closed. I had to restart my car to get it working and even then it was sluggish at first.

 

For you peeps with apple carplay issues, my wife also was having the same thing, in the end the only thing that helped her was a factory reset on her phone (she has a 19RDX).

 

Anyone in Canada get this update on a type-s yet?

I noticed the volume was louder on my music after the update. Can anyone else confirm the same?

 

Update just hit me today. I never played it too loud beforehand but I think I sense a bit more 'definition' in sound quality. #placeboeffect

 

Quick question since I am new to this over the air update process and it sounds like it takes a while to complete. Is your XM radio still available to listen to while it's doing this update? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Dean2019. I was concerned there was something wrong with my cars ability to receive the update but at least now I know I just need to wait.

 

Was curious, one of the guys talked about getting a new wire for CarPlay. How many ways can you connect an iPhone to the car? Wire, LAN, Bluetooth? One might be better than the others if they are available. My phone is happy with the LAN.

 

I tried my 2019 RDX 4 times now last week and once today no update for me either.
I guess Acura is waiting till we have to pay them for the TCU update.

 

Finally got my update this morning. As I am in Canada I’m guessing we were last on the list. It updated in a few minutes while I was driving but then came up with an error that the voice recognition was not working. A restart of the car fixed it.

 

Glad you got it I have to check my car again.
Wow A reboot, sounds like they used windows on this info system. Maybe that is why it's so messed up and doesn't work.
