Hey guys! What's up? I keep meaning to be on here more to keep up with this thread and see what new S2000 stuff is going on. Did you guys know about the upcoming S2K BMT drive in Arkansas? Here's the link on S2Ki: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/ark-la-t...-tour-1175513/

I'm planning on going and have a room reserve so am hoping that work doesn't interfere and make me cancel. It'll be my 3rd BMT and they are awesome. Have had to do some fixes to the S2K this year. Master and Slave cylinders were both leaking so replaced those. The very next day after that was done I had fluid coming out of the bell housing. I pulled the transmission myself to save money and found that it appears to be the plug near the rear main seal (see pics). Hoping to seal the plug and put it back together this weekend. Timing of this was actually good as well as the Clutch disc was almost done for. The metal was showing through the pad material. I'm putting in an AP1 flywheel and a Science of Speed SPort 400 clutch. I also did the clutch delay valve delete so excited to see how it feels once it's back together. Also if anyone is looking for an awesome pair of jack stands, check out the ESCO 10498 stands. They go from 13.5 in to 21 in high! I have my car on them and it's 18 in up and more than enough to pull the transmission and they are stable as hell.

Hope everyone is well and safe and driving the heck out of their S2000s!

Good work Buda. I've been toying with the idea of getting my clutch replaced even though I don't have any symptoms currently. Car has almost 90k and I just want to keep everything fresh. How many miles are on your S?

wheel of friendship.

I would do it if it slips, Dave. I'm at 137K and holding strong for now.

I would say this is the car's 2nd clutch ... I got it replaced at 140k - flywheel & pressure plate had quite a few heat spots on it.

I'm at only about 50k miles (second owner). The first owners were an older couple. Kinda makes me wonder if they feathered the clutch a lot for that much wear. Also just got back from having the AP1 flywheel resurface. It's so shiny!

AP1 flywheel for the win! I did the same upgrade ... AP2 flywheel is heavy in comparison.

I can't wait to drive it to feel the difference. Taking it easy for the first 100 miles to break in the new clutch is going to suck.

You'll enjoy it, no doubt about it.

Car will feel more peppy and less lazy in low to mid range RPMs.

It's almost that time of year to wash the car, put the cover on, and let it hibernate for the next 6 months.

Oh and I have to fix the stupid rear crank seal on the snow blower. double

I'll be daily driving the S2000 a lot once my motor is pulled on the S4 in early November.

Excited to put some mileage on it!

Suite Dave (or I might start calling you NotDennis)...
You've really loved that car!

The S2000 is SO MUCH MORE fun to drive when it's cool out. Man.
I threw the oem cat back in to see about quieting down teh exhaust but I feel like it made the car more sluggish off the line. Meh, I'll swap back, only takes a half whore.

In all seriousness, I do know a couple people that drive their S2000's in the winter and it sucks. The car is super unstable in the snow even with snow tires and the heater can barely keep up on the cold days let alone the really cold days. If you thought the transmission was notchy and did some grinding when it was 70F out, you should try it when it's -10F out... Also, the 10w30 oil doesn't work so hot in the cold either, needs different oil for winter and summer.

obviously YMMV

We don't have to worry about those extreme temps

Yep and I don't regret it. I can take vacations to wherever and continue to enjoy the low cost of living.

If I move, it'll be to Colorado after the housing bubble there pops.

Love the shirts! May have to get one or both of those myself.

I'm at the dealership getting the S2000 checked out after the new clutch install and having her prepped for the drive down in Arkansas next month. The SOS pressure plate is sooo sexy in red!

It's unfortunately about that time the S goes into hibernation. Weather shows the rest of this week and maybe some of next before it goes down for a long nap.

Probably going to end the year at just about 48500 on the clock...put about 1500 on it again this year. Ever since my job moved to 1.5mi from my house, both S and Jeep get very few miles put on them these days.

I probably only did a couple grand too, actually. Having a baby will do that.

I also realize that there's an unspoken rule...never sell an S2000 during the summer. You will regret it during the FL winter.

We have a similar, though somewhat different, unwritten rule. Only sell S2000 during the summer, no one wants it in the winter.

Fine, we're done with Hurricane season here in Houston, so send it my way. I'll kick the wife's Flex into the driveway & put the S in the 3 car garage.

3 car garage? Dayum.

Are you interested in adopting somebody who's only a few years younger than you?
