Oh yes. Craigslist is chock full o' scammers and flakes.
Ironically, it worked out perfectly when I sold my truck. After dragging my feet and mentally preparing to go toe to toe with all the Nigerian scammers and derps who want a test drive, I listed it and had it sold a few hours later. First inquiry, no scam. AND, I totally didn't get murdered either.
So yeah. Although, I also had a desirable vehicle, not an Acura. So YMMV.
"Hey brah, I wanna by ur car but r U inderested in trading for a 4weelr (not runnign) or sum oveously stolen guns?"
"Can you finance? Take payments? Half now / half in 6 months?"
"What's your lowest price? I need to save some cash for the new Jordans Kanyeezey 78s and a new vape blaster so I can only go like $3400"
"Dearest sir. I would like to dispatch my courier to your residence to take delivery of the vehicle. He will be able to provide you with a cheque for your total asking price plus $5500 since that is what my bank has pre-issued for me to buy a new vehicle. You may cash the check and provide a refund to my account and you may keep $500 for your troubles."

The last one is what I've been getting the most. "I will send entire money through paypal then I will have someone pick up the car once you have received the funds." mehhhh

Got that one too, and when I responded with "Sorry, cash only, in person" they replied with some sob story about a bad hip. I was also asked if I accepted bitcoin, and one person asked if they could rent the car from me for a month. Seriously? People fall for this stuff?
My bro-dog who is not a dummy, almost bit (years ago when the 419 scams really started picking up). I was like, "how are you even considering this not to be a total scam?"
I think he still has the totally-legit-this-isn't-stolen-or-forged check that they sent.
If you're bored, it can be kind of fun to mess with the Nigerians. See if you can get them to actually send a check. Or take a picture with a shoe on their head and their willie in a chicken (baked or alive, whatever your heart tells you to do).
Let me preface: Mr Armando works at a remote power plant location and doesn't have good cell service. Only text over wifi. At first, only contact over email. But I insisted he call, he said he would try to text me. The following is what ensued.
Seeing how difficult it is to get someone to meet with me only a few miles away, there's no way I would trust my time waiting up for a guy across the country. Who knows though you may get lucky!

Or murdered.
lol I don't trust anyone who wants to buy a car sight unseen for $14,000 but only has a simless phone that can only work on wifi hahaha

a google voice number can send over wifi
tis what I use...
Google voice--->hangouts.
all calls and text come through hangouts so i dont get confused with regular callers and texters.
ESPECIALLY if I know i'm listing my number; because throwaway
but probably not the case here. 'Mando sounds weird.

Because he is a scammer lol... he didn't even give me a reason why he liked my car. He just "fell in love"
Hey Joe
You can make a road trip to Germany
I give you 16k and a ride on the Autobahn. LOL
But for real. I would really buy your car if you would live near my home. And i know why I fell in love for your car

Good call. craigslist has been dead in my area.
offerup has been great, you can also block/report spammers and not deal with them again, the rating kinda gives ya an idea of people's reliability too.
Not sure if anyone else is like this, but I love just looking at cars for sale lol. For the first time in years of looking I found a newer than 2010 (2011) TSX V6, within a 200 mile search radius. It's not even priced bad at all, if I was in the market I would jump on it immediately. When I first saw it I considered if I traded mine in, but after doing new tires, brakes, $400 worth of service and then adding close to 3-4K on top of trade in, I just don't think it's worth it for me. Plus it's a base and I love the sound system in mine, but V-sex
On the bright side, finally feel like my car is much more fun after a month of running Hondata.
The driver's seat looks like the foam underneath is gone and the door panel/arm rest looks trashed on that CarMax TSX. Pics 12 and 19.
Yeah I noticed that too. Maybe if it was local I would have checked it out in person and test drove it at least, never test drove a V6 TSX before, but non-transferable and 3 hours away so no go.
The plasti-dipped rims also made me feel like it was abused a bit. Can tell from experience lol
