Shiny new 2004 6MT daily
It's been quite some time since my last post on here. Seems I can't get away from Acuras. Recently returned my leased ILX 6MT, but since new ILX's has no 6MT availability, I left the Acura dealership. I went over to a BMW dealer in North Jersey to look at some manual CPOs and came across an extremely well kept 2004 Acura TL 6MT. I wasn't really happy with the color, but its growing on me now that I own it. It came with everything, Navi, big brakes, all the cargo nets, all weather tray, etc. The back seats had a plastic cover on them, as if they were never even sat in! When I removed it, there wasn't a single crack or wrinkle. When I drove it off the lot, I was probably the first one to drive this thing in the snow.
Shifts felt so good, notches right into gear, clutch feel was butter. Feels very similar to the ILX I just returned. Everything about the car felt familiar, but it had a much smoother and stronger acceleration than the ILX. It didn't feel faster, but it gets to highway speeds smoother without needing to rev it out. Anyways, I got it home, covered in snow and salt. Washed it up and let it sit through winter while I worked on it here and there. Short throw shifter, rear sway bar, k&n intake filter, lip spoiler, new tails.
For the most part, I really like it that it's very clean and looks new. I want to keep it looking mostly stock. Probably won't do much else, adjustable coilovers, upgraded OEM rims (type-s or so) and a quiet catback exhaust (don't want a drone-y noise on long drives but probably the only exterior thing I don't like about this car is the dirty exhaust tips and muffler).
blah blah blah, ok pics:

Nice! She looks good. Any desire in getting the A-spec lip kit?

Thanks!
Lip Kit, maybe. I'll have to check clearance after I lower it when I get coilovers for it. I'm not sure what's available for this car since I haven't looked into it yet during the winter. It's going to be a daily, so nothing harsh but I also hate cheap coilovers that clunk and don't last.

Congrats!! Car looks to be in great condition and glad to see you got some mods going already. for the 6mt also look into the gm friction modified mtf, its magic haha
also jump on the lip kit asap. Silver and white are the only colors left and they are going really quick. It won't reduce any height clearance so don't worry about that. I'd make that your first priority before they are gone for good
also recommend tein street advance z one of the most popular and best value coilovers you can get

Congrats! I personally love that color (ASM?).
I picked up a low mileage 1-owner anthracite 6MT TL last week too. Sounds like we'll be modding similarly as well. Enjoy

ha! thought it looked familiar. Owned a several subies over the years.
huh, i guess i'll shoot for the lip kit before the coils then. friend's shop is a tein vendor, so that works. Also thanks for the MTF recommendation. Looking to do a full tune up soon, once I hit the 90k mark.
Thanks!!
nice! mine was also a single owner, garage kept and meticulously recorded and well maintained TL. Even if I know these acura's last forever. This is my third TL!

Very clean, congrats! I actually picked up a silver 05 6MT last year too. Coming from a '12 AWD TL, but I still like this car better. There's just something about these 3rd gen bodies.. so damn attractive!
