teeeejaay's '04 NBP Progress thread
Acura TL 2004 NBP
First bought my 04 TL about 7 months ago. Completely stock AT
Took a few shots of my car the first day I picked it up

These were in a nicely lit parking structure, Ala Moana
After I gave my baby a bath and waxed

Installing my double din: Car Audio Tech in Honolulu
Pioneer P1400 6" Double Din with custom dash kit
Also installed my JL W6 13.5" Sub with custom ported box (Will post pics later of sub)
Rockford Fosgate P-1000 1 channel amp & Rockford Fosgate P-500 4 channel amp (Ran the stock speakers for now then upgraded later)

This is what the middle interior looked like when I bought it...

Added some Carbon Fiber vinyl to it...

Also decided to do more CF vinyl

Added something to my double din screen. Something to cover the screen part when I park in weird places that don't look safe lol. At night can't even tell I have a double din when I put the cover on.

Got me some new tires

Ordered some FatMat XXX instead of Dynamat.

Covered the inside part of the trunk. This helped my rattle SO much, great buy!

Put the carpet part back on

My car is base model so I don't have any fog lights in at the moment. Took out the lower grille part and cut mod away. Inserted a chrome strip also and came out like this

The before and after picture

My lights were really foggy and ugly so I used the Meguiars headlight restoration kit and it came out really good.
Here is the before pic

And the after

Next thing I got was Alarm: Viper 5704 1 Mile, also bought the auto start mod

My friend from Car Audio Tech came over to help with the alarm install

Kind of got tired of the regular stock look for these panels

Decided to spray them gloss black

Really happy with the results of this simple mod

This is the before and after pics

Just a quick pic after a wash and wax

Kept hearing a weird noise from my engine which I could also feel in the steering wheel. From AZ I found out it was my engine mount. Replaced with OEM

Night shot parking lot pimpin LOL

Ordered OEM visors which made a huge difference in look. Love how honda/acura have slim visors compared to some others I seen

Got a 5% strip installed on my front window, my GF just patiently waiting lol

Read about the two bucket for washing my car. Did some detailing for the weekend

Started thinking about what type of coilovers I was going to get... My car was too high

Random pic on my day off

Had a BIG meet up with all the import car guys and their cars so had to make sure the whip was shiny. This is 90% of the detailing things I have. Now im going to get different stuff to use with a Portercable

After the meet up went to eat

Got bored of the normal trim on the doors and CF vinyl that also

Did all 4

Bought RE mid's 6.5" to replace my stock speakers and also did some custom blue LED reflecting from the speakers (Only front 2, the back would get me pulled over since the speakers face the window and blue is for cops
)

The final look and also added a strip of blue in the trunk to make the sub stand out

More parking lot pimpin.

I was over my 105K maintenance so I bought the parts to finish that, had my mechanic install this since I didn't want to break anything lol

Found a cool thread by JTS97Z28 about breaking the defuser in the tail lights so I did that mod also and ordered new LED lights for the license plate

Got some LED 6000K for my reverse lights. No more yellow ish ones.

Found another DIY from rockstar143 "3G DIY The Poor Man's Cold Air Intake"

Decided to change the color of my rims for a while
This is the before pic

Spraying

Here is the Before and After. Also took off the saftey check sticker on my back bumper and put it on a plate. Looks much better

Filling some gas

Random pics

The same night I was taking the random pics there was a car cruise. Went to the car cruise and when everyone was rolling out to start the cruise some dumb civic guy not paying attention rear ended me. His insurance covered the damage, but that ruined lots of things...

Even after the accident still went to the "End of the world day cruise"

I love getting things in the mail

What is this?!?!

Stage 3 Exhaust

And the next day look what came in. My FAVORITE mod so far

Of course had to install the coilovers ASAP
My friend helping me with the install while I snap a pic

Low enough? (No aspec lip just base bumper)

Rolling shot of my car that night it was installed (Need to get me some spacers) Don't mind, theres LOTS of camber on my ride [Update: Added rear camber kit now]

Before I went to work took a few more pics. Don't mind the dirty area where my mug flaps were couldn't get it washed before the next day

I would smash a cigarette box and yes this is my DAILY

Got my own parking space

I think its low enough

Few more random pics

The couple days after installing the coilovers I went to a local shop to do the alignment and to install the rear camber kit

After the alignment and camber kit. Looks like it raised the car since it fixed the camber

I wanted a easier way to do oil changes since I do them every 3000 miles. Was a hassle use the stock tools

In the process

The final product of my ramps

This thing is "SLAMMED" approved

New license plate covers and some stickers for the car show

Parked at work

This saftey check holder JUST made it...

Went on another day cruise open to any cars

Took off the color on my lips

Painted engine cover and made a generic short ram set up until the CAI came in

Did more work on my lights

Random pic

Installing more mods for the car show coming up this month
Heard good stuff about brakemotive so thought I would try it out for the show. I wanted nice rotors. Bought all 4 rotors slotted and drilled with the ceramic brake pads

They came in
So did my OEM parts order (ATM Filter, spring, and a couple other small parts)

This was the before pic with stock rotors

This sticker added 2hp

Installing them

Ordered some of this stuff online, heard good reviews about this

Some after pics of the rotors on the car

Put on my new lug nuts also

Before & After

New long lug nuts

Before and After

Got some new "smell good" for the car

Another mod for the show. Hope Im the only TL with these JDM Inspire fog lights. I see people with accords and stock ones on the TL. Went with aftermarket ones, but ordered a OEM honda fog light switch from a dealer (Heard the aftermarket ones don't fit perfect)

Just so happen I found a good deal on the CAI I wanted, AEM V2

Went ahead and got this also just in case, Hawaii rains pretty bad. We could have some big puddles build up...

HORRIBLE experience with the people I ordered the CAI from. Autoplicity.com will never get my business again. Pretty much to make a long 12 day story short... Ordered the CAI from them since it was cheaper then other sites and deals. Payment went through properly... 5 days went by with no tracking # I said ok Ill give them one more day... The next day still nothing... 6 days so far no word on anything. Called into the customer care, they said they don't even have the CAI with them its "Drop shipped" which sucked cause I thought they had it. The rep said they would ship it the next day etc.. emails to them about what happened to my order... no reply... So waited even longer (9th day) no response. Called again they said it will ship tomorrow. Waited the next day for tracking # (10th day) NOTHING again.... Called into the customer care again and the rep says the part is on BACK ORDER and the part isnt even made yet which was weird cause i got email confirming my part being shipped the next day. WEIRD how my part that never had been made yet is going to get shipped in 1 day...
NO WORD the next day about anything called them agian argued for a good half hour... Kept naggin till I got a answer on my part. Finally the boss says he will 1 day ship from the mainland to HAWAII... He said he had to order it from another company and ship it to me.... Finally with a mirical the part was in Hawaii ready to get picked up...

Now that drama is done! Back to the modding
Prepping & Painted the engine bay covers gloss black

Installed the CAI (Sorry was so excited forgot to take after picture of the bumper off) After pic of the engine bay also

Before & After Paint and Cold Air Intake (Missing some pieces in the pic... They were drying)

My drivers side front sidemarker was going bad so I ordered these Switchbacks. Can't wait to install these!!
Wanted blinkers on the side since I bought the car

This is majority of the pics I have had saved on my comp/phone.... Ill keep this thread updated when I get more mods.
So far I have the these parts just need to install still: Dynomax resonator, JDM fogs, Switchback side markers, new lower grille for JDM fogs, NBP painted front bumper plugs (Where license plate goes)
I just ordered 2 more parts also just waiting for them to ship from Heeltoe, Marcus (Thank you for the deal) My ATLP Jpipe V2 & ATLP Race pipe
Also ordered 2013 RDX brake covers for all 4, waiting for these to come in from Curry Acura
3 more days and my HID slim ballast kit will be in. 6000K for the JDM FOGS
Things I don't have pics of:
OEM 105K maintenance parts (Installed)
Throttle body coolant bypass mod (Installed)
Did 3x3qt OEM ATF flush (Finished)

Thank you! It's hard to drive over these potholes in Hawaii, but I've gotten the hang of the bad potholes and avoid them. Just got my gf the iPhone 5 out right, had to spoil both of my "babies" before I get it
.. Lol!!
Thank you! Means a lot that other TL owners like my car so far. Yes actually I REALLY want to do that, just never got around to start that mod. I want clear corners and blacked out. Have you done this?
Thank you! You like the TUCK! I love it as well, I get asked a lot "what type of bags are you running? Lol ill take that as a compliment I guess. Lol

Took out the stock red rear sidemarker and replaced with the new ones

From behind (Plugged the green wire into the blinker wire)

Unplug the plug, cut any tape holding the wires together so I could connect the green wire to the middle wire

Don't have a solder so used electric tape

Plug back into the blinker bulb

Finished! (6000K switchback sidemarkers)

car looks good man. that might be the lowest TL ever lol. wow. oh and if you are tired of doing oil changes every 3k miles do yourself and car a favor and run some really good synthetic. I use amsoil full synthetic, its really expensive although my dad gets a discount I get it for around 10 a qt but I think its around 15-16 a qt. I go about 10-12000 miles on it easy and its still not gunky at that point. I have heard of people going 20-25000 miles on it but I think thats just if you do a lot of driving. I put about 300 miles a week on my car. look into man worth the extra money up front not to have to change it so often. just make sure you run a good filter with it to last that long. I use k&n

Thank you! Trying to catch up to all of you guys with nice TL's
