Clean Performance Modification
I am wondering what mods I can do that will not increase harmful exhaust emmissions. Will a high flow cat provide the same amount of breakdown of harmful molecules? What are my options?

Performance modifications and environmental conscientiousness do not go together, unless you have an electric car.
Catalytic converters are in place to reduce emissions (carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, etc) from your tailpipe on gasoline powered cars. So yes, a higher flowing catalytic converter allows more "pollution" from your exhaust.
If you want to modify your car to be faster, you cannot also worry about the environment. Sorry.

Yes, to reduce emmissions while increasing air flow another way....
Seems odd, I know. I like having a ULEV vehicle and want it to stay that way or even improve upon emmissions reductions while increasing performance. Revolutionary? No, just my conscience and selfish desire all mixed into one.
Am I really the first?

Can't tell if you're kidding? Adding catalytic converters does the exact opposite. You trap more coming from your cylinders, restricting flow. See below.

Idiotic. Sorry. That doesn't make sense at all. Think about it from an HVAC system perspective, thats like adding more air filters and expecting more airflow somehow... That's just flat out wrong.

No I meant adding high flow cats in addition to other mods which will increase airflow.... (I.e. jpipe, intake, forced air, intake manifold, tb, etc)
ehh... Nvm. Ill figure it out.
Idiotic is not being responsible with the planet we
have.

by moving to a HFC, you are already damaging the planet by letting MORE emissions pass through!
the jpipe further removes the third cat. so, now you're damaging the planet even more.
basically, you would turn your car from ULEV to a stinky emissions polluting vehicle

While we are more of the Gear Head/ Motor Heads, they would be more of the Tree Huggers and Gas Sippers. But we can all still get along!

On a serious note, consider maybe installing a 3.7 manifold.
Here is the LINK

I also noticed that most of the gains are near redline for this mod and I am looking for more lower end torque.
How does this sound? Slap on a jpipe, replace the stock third cat with a high flow cat and replace the mid muffler with another high flow cat.

^that's because, like noted in the first couple of post...performance does not go hand in hand with emissions.
it's one or the other.
you can grab the XLR8 V2 or the ATLP V2 JPIPE with a catalytic converter attached.
head too Shop Online | Excelerate Performance or even www.heeltoeauto.com
they both sell the XLR8 V2 and ATLP v2 Jpipe with the third cat attached.

So you're adding a 4th cat to the car? What power you free up from the j-pipe will be almost negated by installing another cat.
The only way I see you being able to make noticeable power while maintaining low-emissions status would be to supercharge your engine. Comptech sells a kit that is CARB legal and will pass state emissions tests.
