TL's turbo, twin turbo or supercharger. What's best, and where to buy it!

You've got to wonder how it spools. I just looked it over a little closer. 4 bolt exhaust housing, I know Turbonetics only offers a single ball bearing option, not dual, it can't spool very well. Of course, there's not a huge difference in outright spool from a dead stop and stomping the pedal to the floor but the transient response while cruising along is not going to be as good.

Ya ya ya... So going back to replies coming from 2008 with the whole trade the TL in for Mitsubishi (butt ugly) .... BMW ( the overpriced European standard), or infiniti aka Nissan ( who may I remind u has a car named solely after a ) ...but I will not disagree that they all make fine motors... There is something about an Acura that not ONE of those other manufacturers has .... And that is ..... S.T.Y.L.E. STYLLEE. So that's my. 2 cents.

This thread has really gone beyond the bounds of reality..
power curve depends on the spool.. a small snail will spool quick.. that's why these 2.0T are pretty quick to 30mph.
A big ass hairdryer will have noticeable lag, but when it hits, it fucking hits.
A turbo does have loss, that's a myth.. A turbo doesn't have as much loss as a S/C
A high mile motor is not a reason for not being turbo applicable, internal strength of moving components is, another myth
How the fuck do you find an old ass thread, but can't find one of the dozen turbo build threads for the TL?????
Yes a turbo fits in the engine bay.. I hope you do build a turbo TL.. for obvs reasons to some here..

Just a fyi 7 psi boosted when it was around 120k. Now around 138k. Soo anything is possible if you are willing to throw cash at it. IF you want to go fast but no cash. Then open a bottle of nitrous.

every post you make drops the IQ of fellow members by several points, we're already at a record low as it is..
my car is boosted, and I'm sure having a life is something you know a lot about..
I'd offer you my tailpipe, but it'd be like tossing a cocktail weenie down the hallway.. parking a bicycle in an aircraft hangar

Through the 10 years of being on Azine, you learn together and grow together. I've helped out MANY members through out the years. I left all instagram and Facebook groups, due to the same post and thought process you've shown. Being a member ,who is also boosted and have done research from the moment boost was available for the 3rd gen TL, I tend to chime in and help others. I don't bother much anymore, because simply said, everything you want to know about the 3rd gen TL, is here on this site. You bumped an old thread, which everything related, is 7 years old. The automotive industry has changed . Acura is still far behind the performance aspect, not talking about the only holy grail, the NSX. Most manufactures have at least a model that is force induction. They don't need to produce massive engines to get the most power. Force induction is the key to make power while achieving the best fuel economy. Mercedes for example, (IMO) has the best to offer in level of trims and design. Again, just my opinion. Acura, still has a lot of catching up to do, which is why most members here no longer care for Acura's. I love my 3rd gen TL, but I wouldn't buy another Acura, unless they make something that I would like. The unfortunate part for you, don't mess with Majofo. I guarantee you, it's the worse decision to be made. Welcome to Acurazine!

buy a tig welder
buy aluminium piping and flanges.
buy turbo and blow off valve.
buy intercooler and piping.
weld aluminium piping for turbo manifold.
attach turbo.
weld aluminium piping for up and down pipe.
cut pipe and weld blowoff valve.
take oil pan off. drill hole. weld bung. buy oil feed line and fittings.
feed oil line to turbo.
start her up and then tune her.

If he does custom metal work.. and his bestie owns a shop.
We're talking 2k in decent parts alone..
To do it properly with no shop connections and basic mechanical skills will be 10k easy
and that's if nothing breaks
If you want a turbo, buy something that was built for a turbo application.
There are many blown blocks and even moreso blown transmissions on this platform using FI.
Several have stout builds that have been holding boost, but not for $5k

to keep cost down, can use an Ebay turbo. the GT35! would need a real blow off valve tho, ie; Tial.
