TL Type-S Footwell Lights Broken
Hey All,
I finally bought the car I've wanted for an extreeeemely long time, a 2007 NHBP TL Type-S 6spd with the A-Spec kit. I've already had an interesting first few months with it, fixing things such as the HFL service notice and changing all the ugly yellow bulbs to LEDs.
So now my problem: I noticed my footwell lights were not working the other day, so I removed them and replaced them with LEDs. They didn't work, so when I checked with a voltmeter, I realized that the plug is not receiving any voltage (the connector that snaps into the same plastic piece as the bulb).
I know they were working before, because I found out I had them from noticing the slight red glow near the footwells.
I've painstakingly checked all the fuses (yes, especially #4 under the hood and #7 by the driver kickpanel). All my interior lights work, but neither footwell plug is getting any voltage with the doors open. Any ideas?
A pic for the help:

herro dere!
This is the circuit diagram for the footwell LED.
Basically the footwell LEDs work off of red/black wire which is the universal "parking light" wire.
Looks to me that it hooks up to the dash brightness controller also. Try playing with that.
If nothing works, have no fear.
All you have to do is hook the LED positive to red/black wire and LED negative to ground, and you'll have footwell lighting.

Thanks a bunch! I was hoping for a diagram just like that.
I should be looking at "Footwell Lights" right? I see "Ambient Lights" (LED) and I thought the footwells were the only LEDs that came stock. Maybe I'm missing something.
Also, since the HomeLink should have nothing to do with Hands Free Link (HFL) right? I recently removed that module and want to make sure that wasn't the cause.
I will try play with the gauge brightness controller to see if it helps. I do remember playing with that briefly and that may have changed something.
Thanks again!

Totally forgot about this thread and got a question about it, so wanted to give an update.
I was an idiot and didnt realize the footwell lights dont turn on just by opening the door (I wrongly assumed it was the same circuit as the courtesy lights in the door).
If you want to replace the lights, they are one of these lights soldered to a mini circuit board:
I thought my bulbs were bad (since they weren't turning on when I incorrectly assumed they would), I bought some of these: 20 X 5MM Red LED Light Bulb Lamp Pre Wired 12V DIY Hot | eBay
The bulb is about the same size and will require some squeezing. Looks the same as before (not really brighter or darker).
