08 type S TL CEL and flashing "D"

I saw one other thread here back in 2014 seems like the same issue I believe but last night I started the car put it into reverse and then drive. Out of no where the cars CEL comes on and "d" light starts blinking. The car drives perfectly normal still and I cycled the ignition and the "d" stopped blinking but the CEL is still on. There's no symptoms to show dricing is abnormal. Just wondering what your guys thoughts are on this? I am getting the code scanned in a couple hours.

we have no thoughts until you get the code scanned.
the CEL is a key to understanding whats wrong.

get the CEL checked and come back with the exact P0 code then we can have more thoughts on whats wrong.
Butt, a flashing D isnt a good sign for your tranny.

FIY 07-08 with Navi (your is a 08 TL-S) The code directly display on the nav screen. press info button and hit message on the nav screen and it will show what the recent code was, I can tell you right now its your transmission range switch need to be replace. To further diagnostic this put your car in sport shifting mode in either in 1st or 2nd and floor it, the gear indicator will flash and your engine will cut out a little bit before pick back up again. Also note sometime your input on up shift never register and cause the car to bounce of rev limiter.

My car also was doing this and giving me the same code. It would seem to only happen if i started the car and put it in gear too quickly. It happened twice and hasnt happened since.
