It's pretty straight forward, just glad I didn't have to drain the tranny fluid.

No, the TL axle was on back order so I just purchased an aftermarket RL axle locally. Still believe it would work but I'll have to wait till the other side goes to find out.
I'm curious if the fact that you went aftermarket on the axle might be the reason the vibration is still there...
I've read that with the Chinese made ones, people sometimes experience vibration immediately.
Well, on my blue TL...
I noticed a slight improvement in the vibration when I did one side...then I realized the other side was some chinese junk too and I changed THAT one...then, the car was vibration free.
Does your vibration happen at low speed or high speed? If low...it's the axle...high is the balance on the wheel IMO.
Ya that size will give you problems. I ran that on my Ellipsoids and had isssues. I then went 245/40/19. You can get them fixed for about $80 a tired i think it was. Ive had some fixed.
My front passenger side axel is leaking grease -____- is it safe to drive like this? Also do our axles not have trany fluid in them? Just curious since you said you didn't have to train the tranny
EDIT: Sorry for the (somehow) triple post, but I did some research and now realize that there is only trany fluid on the inner side where it connects to the - trany. Sorry for shit posting lol
Great work!! about to start on mine. Headlights are bugging me big time, what kit did you use to restore yours and how long did it last? still good? Thinking about retoring the front end (paint) and putting on an invisible bra. Too many truck stones out there. Any thoughts on this? what was your bigger bang for the buck changes/upgrades? THX!!
Finally got my recall done today which is some nice peace of mind.
Started the morning with "check starting system" which is fantastic at 5 am in the rain ... ended up that my alternator belt was slightly off. Slipped it back on, undamaged belt & drama free ever since.
Weird. Is it a design flaw on these coils that the locking nut keeps backing out? Not to sound like an idiot, but has the idea of changing said locking nut to another kind, like a nylock nut, been explored? My coil-over knowledge is admittedly little limited. Or are you thinking the coilover is failing?
See how this plays out. It would be nice to solve this, haven't listened to music for 3 days now trying to replicate the sound but it's not consistent..
- Locking nut is tight
- Coilover is dry as can be ( )
- No balljoint play
- Outer tie rod has some movement (replaced last year )
- Inner tie rod boot is greased up
Assuming the clunk is the tie rod & more than likely need a new rack…
