Finally got around to replacing that damn axle..

Feels smoother but there's still a vibration, I'm guessing my wheels need to be rebalanced

Next up on the list is finally fixing AC..

So those are TL axles and the fit without issue? Can you give a part number?

It's pretty straight forward, just glad I didn't have to drain the tranny fluid.

No, the TL axle was on back order so I just purchased an aftermarket RL axle locally. Still believe it would work but I'll have to wait till the other side goes to find out.

Yeah but I might as well get it over with now. That and doesn't AC affect the window defogger?

I'm curious if the fact that you went aftermarket on the axle might be the reason the vibration is still there...
I've read that with the Chinese made ones, people sometimes experience vibration immediately.

It's a possibility. Going to get my wheels rebalanced and go from there.

Unless it's the other side that's on it's way out as well..

Yes, using the A/C draws humidity out of the air which helps defogging. You can use A/C with or without heat depending on what you're going for.

Well, on my blue TL...
I noticed a slight improvement in the vibration when I did one side...then I realized the other side was some chinese junk too and I changed THAT one...then, the car was vibration free.
Does your vibration happen at low speed or high speed? If low...it's the axle...high is the balance on the wheel IMO.

I feel a jitter taking off and vibration at high speeds.

Did some driving today and the vibration is toned down from before but it's definitely still there.

Daaam!! Tou remember hitting any pot holes? What size tire were you running? Your car looks so nice with those wheels.

The Gardiner definitely didn't help

There's land mines everywhere in the GTA, I avoid what I can but can't miss em all.

Front tires are 225/35/19. Don't know if they're repairable yet but for the money I might as well grab 10's for the front

Got them balanced this morning & saw them first hand. Next season gonna jump from a 35 to a 40 series tire, more than likely part of the problem.

Really don't want to deal with vibrations but it's still a bit early for the winter setup..

Ya that size will give you problems. I ran that on my Ellipsoids and had isssues. I then went 245/40/19. You can get them fixed for about $80 a tired i think it was. Ive had some fixed.

My front passenger side axel is leaking grease -____- is it safe to drive like this? Also do our axles not have trany fluid in them? Just curious since you said you didn't have to train the tranny

EDIT: Sorry for the (somehow) triple post, but I did some research and now realize that there is only trany fluid on the inner side where it connects to the - trany. Sorry for shit posting lol

MOD EDIT: Cleaned it up.

Great work!! about to start on mine. Headlights are bugging me big time, what kit did you use to restore yours and how long did it last? still good? Thinking about retoring the front end (paint) and putting on an invisible bra. Too many truck stones out there. Any thoughts on this? what was your bigger bang for the buck changes/upgrades? THX!!

Best bang for the buck was definitely the coilovers, completely changed how the car drove/looked.

As for the headlights, I went sanded them with 1500, 2000 & 3000 grit sand paper, compounded them, polished & waxed. Usually do it once a year.

Finally getting my recall done tomorrow morning.. .. & randomly my auto sunroof function starting working again..

Finally got my recall done today which is some nice peace of mind.

Started the morning with "check starting system" which is fantastic at 5 am in the rain ... ended up that my alternator belt was slightly off. Slipped it back on, undamaged belt & drama free ever since.

...I can hear the winter tires calling..

Weird. Is it a design flaw on these coils that the locking nut keeps backing out? Not to sound like an idiot, but has the idea of changing said locking nut to another kind, like a nylock nut, been explored? My coil-over knowledge is admittedly little limited. Or are you thinking the coilover is failing?

I'm gonna inspect later tonight but I've never heard of the locking nut being an issue on coils. I would LOVE if it was only the locking nut

See how this plays out. It would be nice to solve this, haven't listened to music for 3 days now trying to replicate the sound but it's not consistent..

So i just gave the suspension a once over..

- Locking nut is tight
- Coilover is dry as can be ( )
- No balljoint play
- Outer tie rod has some movement (replaced last year )
- Inner tie rod boot is greased up

Assuming the clunk is the tie rod & more than likely need a new rack…
