Mobile 1 5w30 Synthetic Blend done by the dealer every 5,000 miles
The car has the original motor & transmission. No rebuilds on either.

Very cool. Definitely keep this post up to date as you get closer.

Do you want me to change the title to "Clymerdude's quest for 500k miles" or something like that?

I know, it's pretty much unheard of for an Auto Transmission. I do new fluids every 60kish, or when the dealer remembers to do it. Haha

That's very impressive, I do a single drain/fill of Honda DW-1 ATF ever ~20-30k miles in our 2003 Pilot with 272k miles (original transmission).

I think if you get 150K+ miles on a Honda automatic transmission your doing good because Honda has had quite a few bad tranny designs

No kidding.

Seeing this, I think I might need to dial back the amount of derptastic driving I'm doing lately.

Everyone talking about the bad trannies, I always thought it was just the J-series V6 engines that had the shitty transmission. The TSX doesn't use that engine nor transmission so probably less of an issue, no?

Supposedly the TSX 5-sp slushbox is pretty good. Better than the J-V6 trannies like you said, in their application.

But 500k good? I wouldn't have expected that. Surprising in a good way though. Although, it might just be that OP has one of the statistical anomalies. But I'd like to think not.

I've actually read an article where Honda admits the TSX wagon has an extremely faulty transmission. There is a solution though- drop in a supercharged K24, mated to a 6MT. I dunno if helps with the reliability aspect, but it sure does get a whole lot more fun

Meant to ask. Since you use the TSX for work does your company pay for maintenance of the car or just pay mileage?

I actually own the company, so technically, yes, the company pays for maintenance. But I do get to write off the mileage. Have been for 11 years now on the same car. I think it's up to $.55 a mile or something close to that. So the car has paid for itself several times over on just the mileage write offs.

Post a pic to their facebook account. A guy with a 1,000,000 received a new truck from Toyota who tore his old one down to inspect it.

My fat ass is 6'1" currently at 240lbs. (not exactly a delicate flower) I just now took these pics of the driver seat because you likely wouldn't believe it if I told you. Seats are original. I'll also draw your attention to the sill plate. That's right my friend! Still has the original from the dealer blue plastic protectors on them.
