iPhone 5 drops my incoming Bluetooth calls after 2 seconds.
AWP34, if you read the rest of the thread, you'll see there's not much you can do but wait for iOS 6.1 to come out. Those of us on the iOS Developer Program have access to early betas and they seem to have fixed the glitch
My apologies. I assumed even the 2006 RL would have had aux USB port in the center console because it is a high end call. If it took the call through USB instead of Bluetooth, it probably wouldn't disconnect it.
It won't pair at all? People have been having varying issues with the phone once a call is placed or received but I don't think there has been an issue with the phone not pairing at all. It should pair with the car just fine. If you're having issues getting it to pair at all I would say you have a different problem altogether. I would search around various forums on this site, (not just the RL forum), and see what others have said about issues pairing devices with the Acura HFL system. I know some people have had issues pairing in the past and clearing all of the stored phones out of the HFL system and trying again seemed to fix it.
My iPhone5 worked perfectly with my Acura TL 2004 when I got it in Sept. when I upgraded to iOS 6.01 my HFL began cutting off my incoming calls after 2 seconds. I had to go to the phone and put the source to HFL then I was able to talk through the Bluetooth.
My daughter just leased an Acura CRV and I paired my phone to it thinking a new car would make a difference. The same thing happened.
I went back to the 2004 TL, cleared the HFL and repaired my iPhone5. The same thing occurred. I have not tried the "transfer" technique. I think this is an Apple problem because I have read this happens with other car manufacturers.

The first person who tries it, post here on whether it fixed your problem.
Nice phone, but...
Paired up the phone initially with no hiccups.
When a call comes in, HandsFree Link picks it up, announces "You have an incoming call" as usual, displays the number on the dash. I hear the caller for 1-2 seconds, then the call falls silent.
The dash display ceases to display the number, but HandsFree Link continues to take over the central display from the stereo, and the stereo remains muted. It almost seems as if HandsFree Link thinks the call is still in progress.
I know iPhones are supposed to work with our RLs, and my outgoing calls work fine. Anybody else encountered, or solved, a problem like this with any iPhone?

Prior to upgrading to iOS 6.1 incoming calls could be answered from my car, but the call would immediately be transferred back to the phone. I would then have to find my phone and talk to the caller, or transfer the call back to the car. Upgrading to iOS 6.1 has resolved the issue (so far) for me.
My iPhone 5 wouldn't work properly with my HFL or a wired headset (any brand, even Apple). Apple replaced the phone twice but nothing. Updated to 6.1 a couple of days ago and everything is working as it should.

Updated to iOS 6.1. Fixed the original problem and created a new one.
The fix: The problem that prompted me to start my original thread, "RL drops my iPhone 5 incoming calls after 2 seconds," is now gone. Incoming calls are now answered from the steering wheel button as smoothly as outgoing ones.
The bust: The RL now loses its link to my iPhone 5 when I'm not on a call. I have to go to the phone and re-select HandsFree Link to reconnect it to the car.
I'll start a new thread with this post.

my situation seems to be similar.....I just bought a new phone....MOTOROLA RAZR HD MAXX
my former phone integrated to my RL HANDSFREE Link just fine.
The phone is pairing but the problem seems to be when I make a call from the handset while connecting the icon changes from "bluetooth" to "handset" so then I have to manually press that button again to get the dropdown box and choose "bluetooth" to transfer the call back thru HANDSLink.
when I simply paired my bluetooth earpiece headset my phone didn't do this and stayed on bluetooth
any ideas?
