I read some of the threads about the navigation disc that comes with the car. I have version 4.31C which is the original disc. I want to upgrade the system, as it is now 4 years later. I understand there is a difference between the orange and white disc, but is it true the orange won't go into the "06 RL? Fact or fiction?

I have found some later discs 4.62 and a 4.81 both in white. Will either of these discs work in my RL? I can't see spending $150-$200 for a disc when I can search through some wrecking yards.

 

As long as the disc is the same color, they'll work.

White works, orange will not work. Be careful about 4.62, there were issues upgrading the 06, some worked, some worked after resetting through the diagnostics menu, some did not work at all.

 

Coming from OEM 2005, what version will update properly?
